Rinnovo delle promesse battesimali
Ti ringrazio, Signore, di avermi donato il Battesimo che mi ha incorporato
nella Tua Chiesa e mi ha fatto Tuo figlio. Rinnovo le promesse che in quel
giorno i miei padrini hanno pronunciato per me: aiutami a non peccare, ma
a vivere nella tua Grazia. Che io sia sempre pronto a presentarmi dinanzi a
te, mio Salvatore e Giudice. Donami, o Gesù, una fede più profonda, una
speranza più viva, ed una carità più forte. Padre buono, mi hai reso tuo figlio
per sempre, facendomi risorgere, con Gesù, ad una vita nuova e santa. Hai
riempito la mia anima dello splendore della grazia, e mi hai fatto tempio
vivo dello Spirito Santo. Conserva e aumenta in me la fede e la grazia che mi
hai infuso e concedimi di rimanere fedele ad esse per tutta la vita. Amen.
Nel Giordano vediamo Gesù che si immerge nell'umanità fino
in fondo, senza paura di "sporcarsi le mani" con i peccatori ed i
lontani. Questo ci ricorda che anche noi siamo "immersi" in lui,
nelle sue scelte. Essere battezzato ci porta a vedere l'umanità
come luogo dove sperimentare l'incontro con Dio. Non è fuggendo
dal mondo e dai problemi della vita umana (che ci toccano e
coinvolgono in prima persona) che possiamo dirci cristiani, ma è
proprio l'opposto. Incontro Cristo nell'uomo, negli uomini, proprio là
dove vivono le relazioni, dove cercano un senso della vita, anche
là dove sbagliano e cercano di rimettersi in piedi. Non dobbiamo
aver paura di "sporcarci le mani" se vivendo la vita umana fino in
fondo possiamo sbagliare e cadere in contraddizione. E'
fondamentale però che non si spenga mai quella voce interiore di
Dio che dice anche a noi: "tu sei figlio mio amato". E' questa la
differenza cristiana e la cosa che davvero ci rende come Cristo: la
voce di Dio che ci invia e che ci assiste sempre, anche e
soprattutto nei momenti più difficili e in salita. Il Battesimo che
abbiamo ricevuto da piccoli, non è quindi solo un rito del passato,
ma un'esperienza quotidiana di immersione della nostra vita nella
vita di Gesù, e nella comunità che è la Chiesa. Il Battesimo è
immersione anche nel mondo intero, dove proprio lui ha scelto di
immergersi per amore.
* Facciamoci promotori dell’incontro con Dio: Invitiamo alla Santa
Messa”: Nel Sacrificio del Signore viviamo l’esperienza della
Misericordia di Dio ed offriamo a Lui la nostra vita.
* Nella riunione dei parrocchiani, il 16 Dicembre u.s. furono nominati
come fabbricieri Ciccarelli Antonio e Nicolina Cantelmi.
*La giornata mondiale dei Migranti viene celebrata domenica prossima
alla Cattedrale Melkita, St Sauveur, Nella celebrazione viene aperta “la
porta giubilare”.
Durante il 2015 abbiamo avuto 76 Battesimi, 63 Prime Comunioni, 71
Cresime,13 Matrimoni e 230 Funerali. Abbiamo dato in Carità $32.000 e
nelle seconde collette $17,000.
* Preparazione dei Fidanzati nella sala parrocchiale, il 20 Febbraio,
(dalle ore 9 alle ore 3.30) Per iscrizione, rivolgersi in ufficio.
* Riprende la ginnastica il Martedì ed il Giovedì dalle ore 2 alle 4 del
pomeriggio per le persone anziane.
* Invitiamo a far parte delle Corali e a dare servizio in altre attività in
parrocchia. Un grazie a tutti coloro che già sono attivi.
* In Occasione dei Funerali offrite una “messa perpetua” invece di fiori
ed aiutate i nostri seminari.
* Pellegrinaggio della Misericordia il 20 giugno a Lourdes e Roma. Rivolgersi

John preached a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of
sins. Why did Jesus, the Sinless One, submit himself to John's
baptism? In this humble submission we see a foreshadowing of the
"baptism" of his bloody death upon the cross. Jesus' baptism is the
acceptance and the beginning of his mission as God’s suffering
Servant. He allowed himself to be numbered among sinners. Jesus
submitted himself entirely to his Father's will. The Father proclaimed
his entire delight in his Son and spoke audibly for all to hear. The Holy
Spirit, too, was present as he anointed Jesus for his ministry which
began that day as he rose from the waters. Jesus will be the source of
the Spirit for all who come to believe in him. At his baptism the
heavens were opened and the waters were sanctified by the descent
of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, signifying the beginning of a new
creation. Do you want to see your life transformed? And do you want
to become a more effective instrument of the Gospel? Examine Jesus'
humility and ask the Holy Spirit to forge this same attitude in your
heart. As you do, heaven will open for you as well. The Lord Jesus is
ever ready to renew and refashion us through his Spirit and to anoint
us for mission as his ambassadors. We are called to be "light" and
|salt" to those around us. The Lord wants his love and truth to shine
through us that others may see the goodness and truth of God's
message of salvation. "Lord Jesus, fill me with your Holy Spirit and
inflame my heart with the joy of the Gospel. May I find joy in seeking
to please you just as you found joy in seeking to please your Father."
* Let us make the Sunday’s participation to the Sacrifice of Christ a true
resolution for this Holy Year.
* The World Migrants and Refugees Day will be celebrated in the
Diocese at the Melkite Cathedral, next Sunday, the 17 of January (from 2
to 5 p.m.). In the celebration a” Jubilee Door” will be open.
* Catechism will resume: Be punctual and faithful. We ask everyone to
be very prudent in the parking lot entering and leaving.
* The Marriage Preparation Class in our church hall will be held on the
20th of February, from 9 to 3.30. Please, register during office hours.
*Ciccarelli Antonio and Nicolina Cantelmi were nominated trustees of
the Parish for three years, during the assembly of the 16th of December.
* During the Year 2015 we had 76 Baptisms, 71 Confirmations, 63 First
Communions, 13 Weddings, and 230 Funerals. We gave in charity
