The Baptism of the Lord – C –
Reflection
The sacrament of Baptism begins our life with
Christ: it defines us as followers of Jesus. Today
we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord and our
gospel reading describes that memorable day
when Jesus had the joy of being recognized by
John the Baptist and baptized by him. We are
invited to believe in Jesus as the one and only
God who has come to save us.
First Reconciliation
If your child is registered for the sacraments this
year and has completed his/her preparation for
First Reconciliation, please note that there will be
a final First Reconciliation on Monday, January
th
11 at 7:00 pm. Please try your best to be there.
General Meeting for all Wedding Couples
An important meeting for those couples getting
married at St. David’s this calendar year will be
th
held on Thursday, January 14 at 7:30 pm in our
church. Please plan to attend.
First Communion Meetings
A reminder to the parents of children who are
registered for First Communion, you must attend
one of the important meetings to be held on
th
Tuesday, January 19 , 2016 and Thursday,
st
January 21 , at 7:00 pm to continue preparing the
children to receive the Eucharist. The First
Communion book will be distributed at these
meetings. Please check your information sheet to
make sure which session you should be attending.
The enrollment ceremony for First Communion will
be held at all the Sunday Masses on the weekend
of February 6/7 & 13/14. (it should be understood
that anyone who has not registered at this point
will be preparing for First Confession and
Communion next year.)
Weekend Catechism
Please note that our sacramental preparation
classes for students who attend public or private
school and who are wishing to receive their First

Communion begin, January 19 , at 4:15 pm. All
the sessions will be held in our Parish Hall. Please
call Rose Scaini if you have any questions.

You won’t want to miss this one...... St. David’s
Fourth Annual Dinner Dance in support of our twin
parish in Tarapur, India at the Terrace Banquet
th
Hall on Saturday, February 20 . The evening
begins with a full antipasto buffet and open bar at
6:30 pm, followed by a lavish dinner which will
include pasta, char broiled Chateaubriand with a
cognac sauce (vegetarian option available) with
vegetables and potatoes, salad, dessert and
coffee/tea. There will also be performances, music
and dancing, and raffle. Tickets are $90 for adults
and grown children ($50 for children 12 and
under). You may purchase your tickets after the
weekend Masses, at the office during the week, or
by calling Dominick at 416-717-7446. We
encourage you to arrange tables of 10 if possible.
The Daughters of St. Paul Bookfair
The Daughters of St. Paul will be with us the
weekend of January 23 & 24, 2016 with a Catholic
Books & Media Fair. They are bringing a
wonderful selection of Bibles, books, music cds,
and dvd movies for all ages from their Centre on
Dufferin St. in Toronto. This is an opportunity to
get something for yourself or others to enhance
your participation in our Jubilee Year of Mercy.

2016 Offering Envelopes
Boxes of envelopes are ready to be picked up in
the Church hall after all the Masses this weekend.
Envelopes are in numerical order. Please put your
name and address on the first 4 envelopes that
you use in order that we may verify and adjust our
records. Please do not use envelopes from
another year!!! Thank you for your cooperation.
Fifth Annual “K. of C. Family Pasta Night”
This event is totally sold out and there’s a long
waiting list of people waiting to get in. We’re sorry
that we couldn’t accommodate everyone, but
hopefully you’ll be able to attend the next K. of C.
event and be part of the fun.

Good Shepherd Casserole Program
Please keep those casseroles coming!!! The many
hungry and homeless of the city need and appreciate
your help. You can pick up more pans at the parish
office during the week. Thanks to everyone for
helping with this important outreach to the poor.

caffè. Sarà una bellissima serata con musica e
