Die Internetplattform für Bauforschung in der Schweiz bauforschungonline.ch freut sich, die
Gründung einer neuen open access und peer-review Online-Zeitschrift bekannt zu geben: das bfoJournal. Ziel dieser elektronischen Jahreszeitschrift ist es, neuen wissenschaftlichen Forschungen
und Publikationen aus dem Bereich der Architekturgeschichte, der Architekturkritik, des Städtebaus
und der Denkmalpflege eine Publikationsplattform von höchster Qualität zu bieten.

die Wiederverwendung von materieller und visueller Kultur in der Architektur thematisiert werden.
Zu allen Zeiten kann die Wiederverwendung von Architekturteilen, kostbaren Baumaterialien,
architektonischen Motiven oder Bauornamenten in der Architektur beobachtet werden. Welche
Konzepte stehen hinter jenem Prozess der materiellen und visuellen Wiederverwendung? Welche
Rolle spielen transkulturelle Austauschprozesse und unterschiedliche politische und religiöse
Systeme bei der Modifizierung entlehnter Motive. Wie werden die aus ihrem Originalkontext
enthoben Fragmente/Elemente rekontextualisiert? Welches sind die Folgen und Herausforderungen
solcher Transformationen?
Die Herausgeberinnen und Herausgeber laden zum Einreichen von Manuskripten ein, die neue
Aspekte und Perspektiven in der sich wandelnden europäischen und globalen Architektur vom
Mittelalter bis in heutige Zeit beleuchten. Artikel, die eine kritische Diskussion fördern und eine
interkulturelle und interdisziplinäre Perspektive eröffnen, sind besonders willkommen.
Die Manuskripte können auf Deutsch, Französisch, Italienisch und Englisch eingereicht werden
(max. 30‘000 Zeichen, inkl. Leerzeichen und Fussnoten). Sie müssen von maximal 10
Illustrationen, einem Abstrakt (max. 800 Zeichen inkl. Leerzeichen) sowie einem kurzen CV (max.
500 Zeichen, inkl. Leerzeichen) begleitet sein.

La plateforme suisse pour la recherche architecturale, bauforschungonline.ch est heureuse
d’annoncer la création d’une nouvelle revue en ligne, open-access et peer-review: bfo-journal.
L’objectif de bfo-journal est de constituer un espace pour de nouvelles recherches et publications
de qualité portant sur tous les aspects de l’histoire et de la critique architecturale, de l’urbanisme
et de la conservation des monuments historiques.
La première édition de bfo-journal, qui paraîtra en automne 2015, portera sur la question de la
réutilisation de la culture matérielle et visuelle dans l’architecture. Le réemploi d’éléments
architecturaux et d’ornements, tout comme de matériaux constructifs précieux et de motifs
architectoniques s’observent à toutes les époques. Quels sont les concepts qui se scellent derrière
ce processus de réutilisation visuelle et matérielle ? Quel est le rôle joué par les échanges culturels
et transfrontaliers et par les divers systèmes politiques et religieux pour la modification des
formes ? Comment les fragments/éléments retirés de leurs contextes originaux sont-ils recontextualisés ? Quels sont les enjeux de ces transformations ?
Les rédacteurs invitent à proposer des contributions et considérations inédites portant sur ce
phénomène dans le contexte architectural européen et global, du Moyen Age à nos jours. Les
contributions qui favorisent une discussion critique et qui proposent une perspective interculturelle
et/ou interdisciplinaire sont particulièrement bienvenues.
Les contributions peuvent être envoyées en français, allemand, italien et anglais et ne doivent pas
dépasser les 30'000 signes (espaces et notes incluses). Elles doivent être accompagnées par un
maximum de 10 illustrations, un résumé de 800 signes (espaces inclus), et une courte biographie
de non plus de 500 signes (espaces inclus).

La piattaforma svizzera per la ricerca architettonica, bauforschungonline.ch, è lieta di annunciare la
creazione di una nuova pubblicazione in formato digitale, open access e peer-reviewed: il bfoJournal. L’obbiettivo del bfo-Journal è di fornire uno spazio editoriale on-line a nuovi saggi di
qualità che riguardino tutti gli aspetti della storia e della critica dell’architettura, dell’urbanistica e
della conservazione dei monumenti storici.
La prima edizione del bfo-Journal, che uscirà nell’autunno del 2015, si svilupperà intorno al tema
del reimpiego della cultura materiale e visiva nell’architettura. Il riuso di elementi architettonici e
ornamentali, siano essi concreti come frammenti di materiali pregiati, o immateriali come motivi
architettonici e decorativi, si può osservare in tutte le epoche.
Quali concetti si celano tuttavia dietro tale processo di riuso materiale e visivo? Quale ruolo
assumono, nella modificazione delle forme, gli scambi transculturali e i diversi sistemi religiosi e
politici? Secondo quali modalità gli elementi/frammenti vengono estratti dal proprio contesto di
origine e ri-contestualizzati? Cosa si mette realmente in gioco in queste trasformazioni?
I curatori della rivista invitano a proporre dei contributi inediti che presentino nuovi materiali e
considerazioni su questo fenomeno, nell’ambito dell’architettura europea e globale, dal medioevo a
oggi. Saranno particolarmente bene accolti quei contributi che sviluppino una discussione critica e
una prospettiva inter-culturale e/o inter-disciplinare.
Possono essere proposti contributi in italiano, tedesco, francese o inglese, di ampiezza non
superiore ai 30'000 caratteri (spazi e note inclusi). I testi dovranno inoltre essere accompagnati da
non più di 10 illustrazioni, da un sommario di 800 caratteri (spazi inclusi), e da una breve nota
biografica dell’autore di non più di 500 caratteri (spazi inclusi).

Copy – Paste. The Reuse of Material and Visual Culture in Architecture
The Swiss platform for architectural research, bauforschungonline.ch is pleased to announce the
creation of a new online, open access and peer-reviewed journal: bfo-Journal. The aim of bfoJournal is to provide space for new researches and publications of the highest quality on all aspects
of architectural history and critique, urbanism, and conservation of historical monuments.
The first issue of bfo-Journal, to be published in autumn 2015, will develop the thematic of the
reuse of material and visual culture in architecture. The reuse of architectural elements and
ornaments, of precious building materials and architectonic motifs may be observed at all times.
What are the concepts sealed behind this process of visual and material reuse? What is the role
played by cultural and cross-border exchanges and by the various political and religious systems in
the modification of forms? How are fragments/elements taken out of their original context recontextualized? What are the challenges of these transformations?
Editors invite papers that present new material and considerations on this phenomenon in the
European and global architecture, between the Middle Age and the present time. Papers that foster
critical discussion and that develop a cross-cultural and/or cross-disciplinary perspective are very
welcome.
Papers can be sent in English, German, French and Italian and should be no longer than 30’000
characters (including spaces and footnotes). They must be accompanied by maximum 10
illustrations, an abstract of 800 characters (including spaces), and a short biography of no more
than 500 signs (including spaces).
