From January 1, 2013:
I joined the Neuroengineering and Bio-nano Technology Group (NBT) in January 2013 as Ph.D. student in Bioengineering at the
Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics, System Engineering of the University of Genova (Tutor: Prof. Sergio
Martinoia; E-mail: [email protected]). I studied EEG and sEEG signals processing, Information Theory, Transfer Entropy,
Partial Correlation, Cross Correlation, Connectivity Analysis in cortical networks in resting state condition, Statistical Analysis, in
silico and in vitro models; I am both involved in the characterization of neuronal dynamics at network level, as well as estimating
functional connectivity from the spontaneous activity of in vitro cortical assemblies coupled to Micro-Electrode Arrays (MEAs). I
attended courses such as the following: Applied Statistics, The estimation Problem: Theory and applications, Advanced English:
Scientific Writing, Public Speaking, Optimal Design of Experiments, Modeling Neuronal structures from single neurons to largescale networks, Introduction to Python programming.

Course “Analysis and Models in Neurophysiology” at the Bernstein Center Freiburg (University of Freiburg, Germany): the
course provided young reserchers from neurosciences with advanced approaches for the analysis of electrophysiological data and the
theoretical concepts behind them. The course included various topics such as Neuron models and spike train statistics, Point
processes and correlation measures, Systems and signals, Local field potentials. The course consisted of lectures and matching
exercises using Matlab and Mathematica (Prof. Stefan Rotter, Prof. Sonja Gruen, Prof. Ulrich Egert, Prof. Ad Aertsen).

Internship at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School (HMS), Department of Neurobiology, Laboratory of Prof. John
Assad, Boston, Massachusetts. Internship under the direct supervision of Dr. Antonino Casile. I analyzed human motion-capture data,
produced high-quality computer animations, performed psychophysical experiments on humans and statistical analysis.

Agreement (Research Project).The goal of Research Project was to create realistic animations of moving people for the production of
visual stimuli in order to evaluate, in a psychophysical experiment, the importance of biomechanical invariant low-level (e.g. twothirds power law) in the perception and prediction of actions.
