RESEARCH FIELDS
Bariatric and metabolic surgery, focused mainly on the outcome and management of complications
of laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, gastric bypass, gastric plication, intragastric balloon.
Studies on the effect of weight loss in operated obese patients on prothromboyic parameters and on
the incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Prophylaxis of postoperative venous thromboembolism
SURGICAL ACTIVITY
General surgery operations of dr. Mozzi are performed in the Policlinico Hospital of Milan.
Most of them are laparoscopic bariatric surgery procedures, as gastric banding, gastric bypass,
gastric plication, and revisional bariatric surgery. Other procedures include gastric and colonic
oncologic surgery, laparoscopic hernia repair, gallstones and biliary tract surgery.
PUBLICATIONS
165 articles published both in italian and international journals, mainly in the field of obesity
surgery. Other publications regard prophylaxis of postoperative deep vein thrombosis, gastroenteric
surgery, laparoscopic surgery of gallstones, and abdominal wall hernia repair.
Dr. Mozzi participated to about 80 Congresses as speaker or moderator.
