Plant One beschikt over een fabriekshal van tienduizend vierkante
meter met industriële faciliteiten zoals utilities voor elektriciteit,
stoom, koel- en drinkwater, proceswater, stikstof, instrumentenlucht.
Op deze locatie zijn tien tot elf kavels van 500 tot 2400 m2 beschikbaar. Naast de ruimte die beschikbaar is voor proefopstellingen, is er
ook ruim 200 m2 kantoor- en vergaderruimte.

As a Centre for Open Chemical Innovation, Plant One is the ideal
testing facility for sustainable process technology in Rotterdam. The aim
of the founders of Plant One – the municipality of Rotterdam, the Port of
Rotterdam Authority, Deltalinqs and the province of Zuid-Holland – is to
promote sustainable development. Innovations that have been tried and
tested in the lab or in small-scale trials only reach the market after lengthy
pre-industrial scale demonstrations. Plant One is the missing link in the
chain from innovation to market introduction.

Lower energy and materials consumption, clean and renewable raw
materials, better air and water quality: Plant One focuses on a wide range
of sustainable technologies and applications. Innovations in catalysers,
separation technology, heat exchangers and air treatment are just some
examples of the testing activities at Plant One. The chemical and process
industry is running sustainability programmes aimed at achieving the
target of 50% CO2 reduction in 2030, whilst doubling its contribution to
the gross domestic product (GDP). In these programmes, Plant One fulfils
its role as a ‘Centre for Open Chemical Innovation’ (COCI), where new
technologies are developed and innovation is promoted.
Exhibitors of innovative technology have a permanent platform on
the Energy Efficiency Marketplace in Plant One. Here they can share their
knowledge with researchers and industrial decision-makers. Visitors are
shown which technologies are available and which are being developed.
Visits, demonstrations and expert meetings are available daily by
appointment.
Plant One stands for Green Growth: economic development through
sustainable innovations, more prosperity alongside a reduction in our
‘footprint’ of emissions, waste and use of natural resources. Fossil
resources are becoming increasingly expensive, environmental quality
requirements more stringent and competition is growing fiercer. The only
way to respond to this challenge is to innovate and invest wisely. As the
Centre of Excellence for sustainable process technology, Plant One is a
valuable resource for the chemical and process industries, in a period
of transition that is vital for the future of this cluster, both in Europe and
around the world.
Plant One has a factory hall covering 10,000 m2 , including industrial facilities such as utilities for
electricity, steam, cooling and drinking water, process water, nitrogen and instrument air. At this site, 10 or
11 lots are available, ranging from 500 to 2400 m2 . Besides the test area, there is also more than 200 m2
of office and conference space.
