We sail to Tholen. Once through the Sand creek, we set for the Bergsediepsluis (lock) and steam a few miles up the Schelde‐Rhine canal to Tholen. We rent Spirit 28 yachts from “De Arne”, 4 persons a boat. Charter price about 85€ a person. Mooring fees about 15€ per boat. Charter price about 145€ a person for the 4 days. Mooring fees about 15€ per boat and per night. Catering on board and ashore not included Thursday: Arnemuiden to De Heen on the Steenbergse Vliet, a side arm of the Volkerak. We sail via the Oosterschelde, through the Sand creek and Krammer locks. We go through the sea lock at Stellendam and follow the Dutch coastline down to the Westerschelde and into Vlissingen. Sunday: Vlissingen, Middelburg, Veere and back to Arnemuiden. We motor down the picturesque canal through Walcheren. Alternative program if more than 4B forecasted along the coast; 1‐4 May: Grevelingen: Thursday: Arnemuiden to Bruinisse via the Oosterschelde and through the Sand Creek and Grevelingen locks. Friday: Bruinisse to Brouwershaven. Depending on the direction of the wind we sail through the narrow “Hals” today on our way up or Saturday on our way down. The alternative is through the channel called “Geul van Bommenende”. Saturday:Brouwershaven back to Bruinisse. We are using a different channel to see another part of the lake. Jürgen Schmehr, Patrick Sinnesael Spend a RELAXED weekend on the water with Skipper Willem de Laat being on a comfortable boat (Bavaria 37 or similar), sailing under comfortable conditions ‐no racing, and sleeping in comfortable berths (3 cabins, toilet and shower on board). Charter harbour either Sint Annaland or Bruinisse; cruising could be on the Grevelingenmeer (Brouwershaven...), or on the Oosterschelde (eg Burghsluis, Yerseke), or towards Willemstad (tbd). Cruise particularly suited for members who want to improve their skills (navigation, sailing, skippering...). Sunday: Burghsluis to Ooltgensplaat on the Volkerak, via the Oosterschelde and through the Krammer lock. Monday: Ooltgensplaat back to Arnemuiden via the Volkerak and Oosterschelde and through the Krammer and Sand Creek locks. Veerse Meer Sunday Michael Dunhill 24 hours of the Veerse Meer Roel Moens/Kai A 24 hour race on the Veerse Meer in which crew compete for the longest distance covered in 24 hours. BISC defends the cup that Bo, Kai & Peter won in 2012 on “Zeewolf” a chartered Spirit 28. This is more than a race, it’s a happening! Highlights include sunrise and sunset over the lake. Beginners are welcome too, each boat needs a purser, cooking skills are very much appreciated. We charter Spirit 28 (3/4 persons) and/or Kievit 680 (2/3 persons) yachts from “De Arne”. Boat charter about 85€ per person. No mooring fees, unless you abandon the race and make for port.
