Samenvattend
• COPD komt frequent voor
• COPD en ontwikkelen van DM lijkt met elkaar
geassocieerd
• Corticosteroïden zijn een risicofactor voor
diabetes gerelateerde complicaties, maar dit
geldt niet voor inhalatiecorticosteroïden
• Prognose COPD wordt bepaald door ernst ziekte
• Behandeling met metformine leidt niet tot extra
risico bij COPD populatie
• Voor exacerbatie is corticosteroïd stootkuur van
5 dagen voldoende
