I would kindly like to remind you to our invitation to the Gemma Frisius Lecture on Wednesday September 17th
2014.
The Gemma Frisius lecture marks the official opening of the academic year in Fryslân.
This year we are honoured to present prof. dr. Hans Clevers, president of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts
and Sciences (KNAW) and professor of molecular genetics at Utrecht University Medical Centre (UMC-U), as the
keynote speaker. Subject of his lecture is the current standing of stem cell research (stem cells: dr Jekyll or mr
Hyde?).
After the initial keynote lecture prof. dr. Dolf Weijers (WUR), prof. dr. Erik Boddeke (UMCG), prof. dr. Lubbert
Dijkhuizen (RUG) and prof. dr. Gerald de Haan (UMCG) will further discuss their perspective on stem cell research.
Chair is prof. dr. Lubbert Dijkhuizen, professor of Microbiology at University of Groningen.
