TESTING

Building a Best-In-Class wheel isn’t done with just parts out of a catalog. It needs to be engineered. And then it needs to be tested. And then tested again. At Rolf Prima, we pride ourselves on our engineering, but we don’t pat ourselves on the back until we’ve validated it through testing. And not just any testing; we’ve developed a testing regimen that puts our wheels through the literal ringer with tests measuring, among other things, stiffness, impact, braking, aerodynamics and durability. Why? Because you deserve it.

Paired Spokes™

Bringing the spokes to the rim in pairs neutralizes the left and right outward pulling forces allowing us to build true wheels on lighter rims with fewer spokes.

TECHNOLOGY

Differential Flange Diameter ™

Our patented oversize non-drive Differential Flange provides leverage to transmit drive torque in the rear wheel to the non-drive spokes, thereby increasing the number of torque absorbing spokes.

Dish Reducing Design™

This patented technology increases the bracing angle of the drive side spokes to improve wheel stiffness.

Jacketed Nipple Design™

The deeper the rim, the more a spoke must bend along its path to the hub flange. Our patented Jacketed Nipple Design moves the bend of the spoke away from the high stress area of the spoke threads and increases spoke life significantly.

Self-Aligning Nipple™

Our patented Self-Aligning Nipple design allows the nipple to rotate in a ball and socket configuration to minimize spoke bending and increase spoke life.

Carbon is no longer the exclusive domain of the racing community. Our carbon clincher line, built on our Delta Rim Technology, offers best-in-class performance, excellent aerodynamics, durability and overall handling. It provides all the benefits of a “race-day” wheelset, with the robustness of a Rolf Prima build. Our carbon clinchers are not just “race-day” wheels; they’ll also be your “I’m going to chase that rabbit down today” wheels.

Taking a leap forward to incorporate more aerodynamic benefits and shape, the Aspin wheel line is built upon custom hubs and Rolf Prima’s own US made rims. A dependable option and a premium wheel for a wide range of riders, the Aspin line is a great choice for training miles or race day.

New additions include a disc brake compatible hub and new 650c wheel size.

In 2013 we began the journey to build our own aluminum rim manufacturing line in our Eugene, Oregon facility. We were proud to begin delivering rims in 2014, just one year later.

Making an aluminum hoop with holes is easy. Making a precision bicycle rim is not. The details and refinement required are downright painstaking. It’s necessary. It’s rewarding. The combination of in-house manufacturing with our testing capabilities has enabled us to dial in performance to an even greater degree.

MOUNTAIN

For some, mountain biking is an every season passion. Whether it’s arranging a shuttle for an all day long epic adventure or waiting for that favorite river trail to dry out, we know. We live it. And we’ve got the wheelset that will make your ride more fun. We’ve spent countless hours in the design and testing of our Ralos and Rage models, so your only concern is how to get to the trailhead. Mount them up tubeless if you like and hit the dirt.

We’ll build them to suit your preferred configuration. Available as 29”, 27.5” (650b), 26”; Front axle: 9mm/15mm thru, Lefty; Rear axle: 135mm/142mm thru, XD driver for 1x11.

Every model offered in our cyclocross and gravel adventure line has been thoroughly put through its paces. So race them, train on them and ride them wherever the course, road or gravel may lead - because we want the stories to be about the adventure and the journey.

Choose the Vigor FX for the track or go for style with our P-Town – available with a 120mm or 130mm rear hub spacing build. Choose our 130mm eccentric option and turn just about any frame into a single speed machine.
