1/6. OUDE STAD - GROTE
MARKT (start en aankomst)
De Oude Stad verwijst naar de prachtige
historische gebouwen
in het centrum van Antwerpen. De 16e-eeuwse gebouwen, zoals het
Stadhuis, de Onze Lieve
Vrouwe kathedraal en
de Sint-Carolus Borromeuskerk, herinneren
ons aan de Gouden
Eeuw van Antwerpen. En vergeet
niet één van deze monumenten te
bezoeken alsook één van de gezellige
cafés en restaurants!
2. MAS
Het MAS, museum aan de
stroom. Dit nieuwe museum
bevindt zich midden in de oude haven
- op het zogenaamde
Eilandje - een bruisend
stadsdeel in volle ontwikkeling, the place to
be. Het MAS vormt de
nieuwe scharnierplek
tussen stad en haven
en vertelt het verhaal
van de binding tussen
Antwerpen en de rest van de wereld.
Je kan gratis naar boven voor het
panoramische uitzicht. Met zijn 60m
hoge toren is het museum een nieuw
oriëntatiepunt in de stad.
MAS HAVENPAVILJOEN
Aan de voet van het
MAS ligt het MAS
Havenpaviljoen, het
interactieve bezoekerscentrum van de haven
van Antwerpen. Op een
360° scherm zie je een
film over de diverse
activiteiten in de haven.

1/6. OLD CITY - GROTE MARKT
(start and finish)
The Old City is
the historic centre of
Antwerp where you’ll
find many traditional
buildings. More than 1
million tourists visit the
Old City every year. The
16th-century buildings,
such as the City Hall,
the Cathedral of Our
Lady and the Church of
Saint Charles Borromeo,
all date back to the Golden Age of
Antwerp. So don’t forget to visit at
least one of these monuments, and
one of the cosy cafés and restaurants.
2. MAS
MAS: Museum on the River. This new
museum is located in the centre of
the old port, an area
called Het Eilandje – or
the Island – which is
now a bustling new
neighbourhood, and
the place to be. The
MAS is the new link
between the city and
the port, and it tells the
story of how Antwerp
is connected to the rest
of the world. You can go to the top
of the building for free, and enjoy a
splendid panorama. The 60-metre
high tower has made the museum a
new focus point in the city.
MAS PORT PAVILION
At the foot of the MAS
building you can find
the MAS Port Pavilion,
the visitor centre of the
Port of Antwerp. On
a large round screen
you can watch an
impressive 360° film
about the activities

Of bewonder de grote luchtfoto van
de haven en de stad. Je kan het MAS
Havenpaviljoen gratis bezoeken, elke
dag van 9u30 tot 17u30 behalve op
maandag.
3. CENTRAAL
STATION
Het Centraal
Station is één van
de mooiste stations van
Europa, gelegen aan het
Koningin Astridplein.
Van hieruit kan je naar:
de Zoo, Aquatopia, China town, de diamantwijk, de Joodse
buurt en de De Keyserlei.
Zeker een bezoekje waard!
4. EILANDJE
Het beroemde
Antwerpse Eilandje, een voormalige, karaktervolle
havenbuurt is vandaag
omgevormd tot een
bruisende stadswijk aan
het water. Hierbij een
tip, boek een havenrondvaart of maak een wandeling op en
rond het Eilandje!
5. RED STAR LINE
Tussen 1873 en
1935 brachten
de stoomboten
van de rederij
Red Star Line zo’n 2,6
miljoen fortuinzoekers,
zakenmensen en vooral
Oost-Europese Joden,
via Antwerpen naar het
beloofde land Amerika.
In het Red Star Line museum,
geopend in de voormalige gebouwen
van de rederij, wordt hun verhaal
verteld.

3. CENTRAL STATION
Antwerp Central Station
is one of the most
attractive stations in
Europe. It’s located on
the large square called
Koningin Astridplein.
From here you can also
visit the Zoo, Aquatopia, China town, the diamond district,
the Jewish quarter, and De Keyserlei
avenue. All are worth visiting!

4. EILANDJE
The famous Antwerp
Island or Het Eilandje,
is an old harbour
neighbourhood, which
is currently being redeveloped into a bustling
urban area along the
waterside.
We recommend a tour
of the port or just go for a stroll
around the Island.
5. RED STAR LINE
Between 1873 and
1935, about 2.6 million
fortune seekers, businessmen and mainly
Jews from Eastern
Europe crossed the
Atlantic with Red Star
Line ocean steamers,
via Antwerp to the
promised land of America. You can
learn all about their story in the Red
Star Line Museum which is located in
the former buildings of this shipping
company. Visit the museum and listen
to their story!

Aan de bocht van de Schelde, één van de mooiste plekjes van Antwerpen, stad aan de stroom,
maken we even halte voor een foto stop.
We always stop for a photo opportunity in the bend of river Scheldt. It’s one of the prettiest spots
