• Negerhollandse teksten geschreven tussen 1754 en 1924 • Corpus van de verschillende aspectuele markeringen: imperfectief, perfectief • Analyse van de combinaties tussen verschillende werkwoordtypen en aspectuele markeringen
The Aspect hypothesis
Li & Shirai (2000: 50) … at the early stages of acquisition, learners predominantly use past tense and perfective aspect forms with punctual and telic verbs and progressive aspect forms with activity verbs (Sugaya & Shirai 2007; Andersen & Shirai 1996).

Early Sranan resembles L2 creole
The optional use of the imperfective marker we also find in non-native creole speech in French Guyana. (Migge & van den Berg 2009)
