The film's director, Dara Kell, and two of the South African activists, Zodwa Msibande and Mnikelo Ndabankulu, will attend the screening and participate in a Q&A and discussion afterward. ONE HEART FOR CONGO Pathy Ekal, Kristen Gianaris, and Bahiyyah Khalilallah, three members of the local Congolese community, will present "Uncovering Truth about the DRC: Displacement at Home and Abroad" to discuss the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and share their experi ences as African refugees in the Midwest. LOST BOYS OF SUDAN Peter Magai Bul, Maketh Bul Mabior and John Dut Kuol will present "Lost and Found: Sudanese Refugees in the U.S.," which will highlight the men's experiences as Lost Boys in a Kenyan refugee camp, as students and employees in Chicago, and as leaders of development organizations they have established to assist their communities in newly-established South Sudan. "God Grew Tired of Us" (Directed by Christopher Quinn and Tommy Walker, 2006) is a film that tells the story of three Lost Boys of Sudan who are selected from a refugee camp in Kenya to come and live in different U.S. cities. Peter, Maketh, and John will be on hand after the film to answer questions. EXHIBIT: WINDOWS & MIRRORS REFLECTIONS ON THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN This exhibit is the powerful outcome of the American Friends Service Committee's call to artists in the Chicago Public Art Group and the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program to contribute works of art to a traveling memorial to civilians who have died in the war in Afghanistan. The exhibit also includes drawings that depict the war by children who live in Kabul. The exhibit will run Nov. 26 - 30th. MAKING HUMAN RIGHTS REAL: WORKSHOP Members of the courses in the Making Human Rights Real cluster will meet to share what they have learned about human rights and social justice throughout the semester in their individual courses, and what kinds of action they can take based on that knowledge.
