 16 local investors built a 5/8 mile harness track in
Plainville in 1998
 Plainridge opened for simulcast and live racing in
March 1999
 Expanded gaming legislation passed Nov 22, 2011

Allows for three casino and 1 slot – only venue (Category 2)
license
 Plainridge filed its application fee on Aug 9, 2012 for
Category 2 gaming license


 We are proposing to build a $125 MM expanded gaming
venue with 1,250 slot machines
 Expect to generate 6,534 trips per day

Of which 84% will come from Rt. 495
 Roadway improvements will include traffic light at Rt.
495 S off ramp and at our entrance
 With a gaming license, we will will hire an additional 400
full time employees and create 300 construction jobs
