Office Mission
The mission of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is to
support all OHSU postdoctoral scholars from arrival to
departure.
In doing so, the OPA strengthens the research training for
all postdoctoral scholars, ensures a consistent and superior
postdoctoral experience, and prepares postdoctoral
scholars for any professional endeavor they wish to pursue.

1. Individual Career Advising Appointments

– Application preparation and review
2. Learning Opportunities for Career and Professional

– Scientific Communication (posters, talks, etc.)
3. Career Resource Center (near completion)
– Lending library of print and electronic resources
– Freely available informational flyers, magazines, etc.

What am I currently doing?
1. Standardizing Postdoctoral Appointment Processes
– Creating hiring, onboarding, and exit procedures for all OHSU
postdocs
– Sending all postdocs to NEO, soon to include a New Postdoc
Orientation
2. Writing uniform postdoctoral policies, guidelines, and
procedures.
– For all faculty, administrators, and postdocs
3. Postdoctoral Survey – what do they want to see?

1. Support for administrators
– Contact me for all things postdoc

training
3. Continued cultivation of support for postdocs
– Liaise with all postdoc groups
