In doing so, the OPA strengthens the research training for all postdoctoral scholars, ensures a consistent and superior postdoctoral experience, and prepares postdoctoral scholars for any professional endeavor they wish to pursue. Individual Career Advising Appointments – “What do I do with my life?” – Application preparation and review 2. Learning Opportunities for Career and Professional Development (Coming Winter 2015) – Career Exploration – Academic and Non-academic job search strategies – Scientific Communication (posters, talks, etc.) 3. Standardizing Postdoctoral Appointment Processes – Creating hiring, onboarding, and exit procedures for all OHSU postdocs – Sending all postdocs to NEO, soon to include a New Postdoc Orientation 2. Writing uniform postdoctoral policies, guidelines, and procedures. – For all faculty, administrators, and postdocs 3. Postdoctoral Survey – what do they want to see? Support for administrators – Contact me for all things postdoc – Checklists/guidelines for postdoc procedures 2. Support for faculty – Mentoring resources pertaining to postdoc training – Support letters for fellowship and training grant applications – Updates on national policies and requirements for postdoc training 3.
