1. Overview
• ISO/IEC JTC1 SC25 WG3:
• Interconnection of information technology equipment,
• Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Cabling Systems for Buildings,
• Specified in ISO/IEC 11801 series standards and related documents.
• Report covering 1/1/2013 to 6/30/2013
• SC25 WG3 develops cabling systems standards for:
• enterprise, industrial and residential environments,
• Local Area Networks (LAN), Intelligent Building networks, and Data Centers.

2. Primary objective
• ISO/IEC 11801 3rd edition completed its preparatory stage to go
forward in the committee stage.
• Series of 5 standards
• The series revision includes the original two part 11801 2nd edition
• Generic cabling for all customer premises
• Commercial buildings cabling systems - for the Enterprise.
• The new 11801-X series includes three additional related standards,
• Industrial,
• Residential,
• Datacenter cabling.

over-twisted-pair.
• ISO/IEC 14763-3, 2nd edition revision, Standard for Testing 11801 Optical
Fiber Cabling Channels
• Entered the enquiry stage from the last meeting.
• Test method improvements to support component and channel performance
improvements for new optical fiber media classes added to ISO/IEC 11801 edition
