following showing your Manatee County address to the Central
Library or any of the branches:
• Driver’s License or Florida resident I.D.

• Lease showing rental of residence
for more than 6 months

EBSCOHost is designed specifically for public libraries. It includes MasterFILE
Premier which contains full text for more than 1,700 periodicals covering general

100,000 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of close to 300,000
photos, maps & flags. Children’s and Spanish language options are available.

One Click Digital is is a brand new site hosted by Recorded
Books. All downloadable audiobooks that were available on the
NetLibrary site are now residing here, along with some bonus
materials. (Please note, this site is still undergoing "beta" testing.)

OverDrive is an on-line provider of downloadable e-books and audiovisual
content. Currently the Manatee collection only contains e-books. OverDrive
books are compatible with most e-readers and most computers plus a wide
variety of devices. Content is currently incompatible with Amazon's Kindle, but
is expected to be made available for these readers in 2012.
Books are downloaded for 1 or 2 weeks.
Must install software called Adobe Digital Editions.
Due to licensing restrictions, Overdrive is not available for reciprocal
borrowers or patrons with "non-resident" library cards. Is an on-line

designed to assist researchers in understanding the full scope

WHAT IS IT?
A meeting of genealogists interested in using their
personal computers to enhance their research.
WHEN?
Monthly -- On the first Tuesday of the month (October
through May) following main topic speaker.
TIME:
About 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM, following the meeting
break period after the main MGS speaker.
PLACE:
The Central Library Auditorium, Bradenton, FL (same
location as our MGS monthly meeting)
WHO:
Open to all those interested in using their personal
computers to enhance their genealogical research.
PROGRAM:
Each month we will discuss and view what's new in
genealogy on the Internet. We'll have demonstrations of software and
hardware that will facilitate our research. Tips and techniques will be
shared by and among those attending each meeting. Genealogically
related computer, Internet, digital photography and research questions will
be fielded during the sessions. We'll look at the newest technology but
will keep the discussions as low tech as possible.
