clues

 Hints that help solve a mystery or a problem.  The detective looked for clues to help him solve the mystery.

prehistoric

 Belonging to a time before people started writing history.  In prehistoric times, houses were made of rocks piled on top of each other.

imprint

 To mark by applying pressure.  The horse left an imprint of its foot in the dirt.

mold

 A hollow form that material is poured into to make a shape.

 I used the mold of the skull and bones to make a design.
