Loading Safety – Hot Loading Hot Loading: loading or off-loading a patient while the rotors are still spinning. Due to the lower rotor height on the A109 airframe, Mercy Air 7, 11, and 21 DO NOT utilize Hot Loading. The crew will exit the aircraft and come to you to get the patient.
