NEALLT 2005 Conference: “The Language Resource Center: Trends and Visions.” Rochester Institute of Technology March 11-13, 2005 Panel Presentation: Exploring Ideas for Developing the FL Web Site Luba Iskold Muhlenberg College Co-presenters: Mary Toulouse, Lafayette College Mary Beth Barth, Hamilton College Abstract The panelists present and discuss different departmental and lab web sites, focusing on how they promote and reflect the study of languages at their respective institutions. Topics include recruitment, resources and data banks, opportunities for faculty and student publication, and archival possibilities. The presentation is followed by an open discussion of the potential uses of web sites to foster foreign language study. Curricular Materials on the Departmental Web Site • Should we post curricular materials on the departmental web site? • How does one decide which materials are particularly useful? • How do we encourage students and faculty to use these resources effectively?
