College and Success Indicators
What’s the end game for K-12 education?
College and Success Indicators
College readiness can be
defined as the level of
preparation a student needs in
order to enroll and succeed:
 without remediation
 a credit-bearing general
education course
 at a postsecondary institution
College and Success Indicators
ACT defines “college
readiness” as students having
a 75% chance of earning a
grade of C or better:
 During the first-year of
college
 While enrolled in nonremedial credit bearing
college courses

How is CCR used in A-F School Grading?
CCR is cohort based, just like graduation and is one
year lagged
Uses the Shared Accountability method
– Outcomes are apportioned to every high school attended
– Students have 4 years to accumulate
participation and success credits
– The student’s best effort is counted
Schools can earn a total of 15 points
Success benchmarks are published in the
ADC Manual and in the Technical Guide.
