Experience and Earning Respect




Cadets will recognize very quickly if you have the skills to be
their leader. Gain as much experience through participation in a
wide variety of activities. Don’t fake your abilities as you will be
found out very quickly.
Be yourself and treat others with dignity and respect.
Shouting does very little to motivate your Cadets – look for other
options to build strength in your platoon.
Leaders are willing to accept the same risks and inconveniences
they ask of their team. They show this by sharing the workload,
eating the same food, carrying the same load. Always put your
troops first and look after their welfare. They in turn will respect
you for your strength of character and skill.

Red Star Review
“In summary, plan ahead, share the burden of
organizing with others and learn from each mistake
that you make. Remember that one of the aims of
the cadet organization is to develop citizens, and
by getting involved in the community, you are
contributing to the improvement of that
community.”
