YOUR ACTIONS DEFINE YOUR CHARACTER
Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A
city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 "Nor
do they light a lamp and put it under a basket,
but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who
are in the house. 16 "Let your light so shine
before men, that they may see your good works
and glorify your Father in heaven.
2 Thessalonians 3:7 For you yourselves know
how you ought to follow us, for we were not
disorderly among you; 8 nor did we eat anyone's
bread free of charge, but worked with labor and
toil night and day, that we might not be a burden
to any of you, 9 not because we do not have
authority, but to make ourselves an example of
how you should follow us.
1 Corinthians 11:1 Imitate me, just as I also
imitate Christ.
Romans 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him
through baptism into death, that just as Christ
was raised from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness
of life. 5 For if we have been united together in
the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall
be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing
this, that our old man was crucified with Him,
that the body of sin might be done away with,
that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in
Christ, he is a new creation; old things have
passed away; behold, all things have become
new.
2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our
warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for
pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down
arguments and every high thing that exalts itself
against the knowledge of God, bringing every
thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in
the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us
from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we
deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If
we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not
sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in
us.
Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we
continue in sin that grace may abound? 2
Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live
any longer in it?
Romans 6:12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal
body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not
present your members as instruments of unrighteousness
to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from
the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion
over you, for you are not under law but under grace. 15 ¶
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law
but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that
to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are
that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading
to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17
But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin,
yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to
which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free
from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by
faith, we have peace with God through our Lord
Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have
access by faith into this grace in which we stand,
and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not
only that, but we also glory in tribulations,
knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;
4 and perseverance, character; and character,
hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because
the love of God has been poured out in our hearts
by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life. 24 Put away
from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips
far from you. 25 Let your eyes look straight
ahead, And your eyelids look right before you. 26
Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your
ways be established. 27 Do not turn to the right
or the left; Remove your foot from evil.
Philippians 2:19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to
send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be
encouraged when I know your state. 20 For I
have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care
for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the
things which are of Christ Jesus. 22 But you
know his proven character, that as a son with his
father he served with me in the gospel. 23
Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I
see how it goes with me.
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise your youth,
but be an example to the believers in word, in
conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Colossians 3:1 If then you were raised with
Christ, seek those things which are above, where
Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set
your mind on things above, not on things on the
earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with
Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life
appears, then you also will appear with Him in
glory. 5 Therefore put to death your members
which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness,
passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is
idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of
God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7
in which you yourselves once walked when you
lived in them.
8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these:
anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language
out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another,
since you have put off the old man with his deeds,
10 and have put on the new man who is renewed
in knowledge according to the image of Him who
created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor
Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian,
Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and
beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness,
humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing
with one another, and forgiving one another, if
anyone has a complaint against another; even as
Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
14 But above all these things put on love, which
is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of
God rule in your hearts, to which also you were
called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the
word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom,
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace
in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you
do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through
Him. 18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as
is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your
wives and do not be bitter toward them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for
this is well pleasing to the Lord. 21 Fathers, do
not provoke your children, lest they become
discouraged. 22 Bondservants, obey in all things
your masters according to the flesh, not with
eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of
heart, fearing God. 23 And whatever you do, do it
heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the
reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord
Christ. 25 But he who does wrong will be repaid
for what he has done, and there is no partiality.
