Mark 10:32

They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful.

And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him,

Mark 10:35-34

saying

, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles.

34 They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill

Him

, and three days later He will rise again.

Matthew 20:20-21

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him.

21 And He said to her, “What do you wish?” She said to Him, “Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right and one on Your left.

Matthew 20:22

But Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They said to Him, “We are able.

Matthew 20:23

He said to them, “My cup you shall drink; but to sit on My right and on

Matthew 20:26-28

“It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, 27 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

Mark 10:46-52

Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar

named

Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road.

Mark 10:47

When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, on “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy me!”

Mark 10:48

Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, me!” “Son of David, have mercy on

here

.

” So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.

” 50 Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus.

Mark 10:51

Luke 19:1-3

He entered passing through.

2 Jericho and was And there was a man called by the name of Zaccheus; he was a chief tax collector and he was rich.

3 Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and was unable because of the crowd, for he was small in stature.

Luke 19:4-5

So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree in order to see Him, for He was about to pass through that way.

5 When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.

Luke 19:6-7

And he hurried and came down and received Him gladly.

7 When they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, “He has gone to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.

Luke 19:8

Lord, Zaccheus stopped and said to the “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much.

Luke 19:9-10

And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham.

10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Luke 19:11

While they were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.

Luke 19:12-14

So He said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and then return.

13 And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them ten minas and said to them, business with this until I come back.

’ ‘Do 14 But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.

’”

Luke 19:15

“When he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these slaves, to whom he had given the money, be called to him so that he might know what business they had done.

Luke 19:16-17

“The first appeared, saying, ‘Master, your mina has made ten minas more.

’ 17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave, because you have been faithful in a very little thing, you are to be in authority over ten cities.

’”

Luke 19:18-19

“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, master, has made five minas.

’ 19 And he said to him also, to be over five cities.

’” ‘And you are

Luke 19:20-21

“Another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I kept put away in a handkerchief; 21 for I was afraid of you, because you are an exacting man; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.

’”

Luke 19:22-23

“He said to him, ‘By your own words I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know that I am an exacting man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow?

23 Then why did you not put my money in the bank, and having come, I would have collected it with interest?’”

Luke 19:24

“Then he said to the bystanders, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas.

’”

Luke 19:25-27

“And they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas already.

’ 26 ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.

27 But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence.

’”

What are the main lessons from this parable?

After He had said these things, He was going on ahead, going up to Jerusalem (Luke 19:28).

Matthew 26:6-7 Mark 14:3 Luke 7:37 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, at the home of Simon the leper, 7 a woman came to Him with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume, and she poured it on His head as He reclined

at the table

.

While He was in Bethany at the home of Simon the leper, and reclining

at the table

, there came a woman with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume of pure nard;

and

she broke the vial and poured it over His head.

And there was a woman in the city who was a sinner; and when she learned that He was reclining

at the table

in the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster vial of perfume…

John 12:1

Jesus, therefore, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.

John 12:2

So they made Him a supper there, and Martha was serving; but Lazarus was one of those reclining with Him.

at the table

John 12:3

Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

John 12:4-6

But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, who was intending to betray Him, said, 5 “Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to poor

people

?” 6 Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put into it.

John 12:7-8

Therefore Jesus said, “Let her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of My burial.

8 For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.

What do the words of Jesus tell us about the poor?

What do the words of Jesus tell us about extravagant worship?

John 12:9-11

The large crowd of the Jews then learned that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead.

10 But the chief priests planned to put Lazarus to death also; 11 because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and were believing in Jesus.

Mark 11:1-3

As they approached Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples, 2 and said to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied

there

, on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it

here

.

3 If anyone says to you, you doing this?' you say, need of send it back here.

” ‘Why are ‘The Lord has it’; and immediately he will

Mark 11:4-6

They went away and found a colt tied at the door, outside in the street; and they untied it.

5 Some of the bystanders were saying to them, the colt?” “What are you doing, untying 6 They spoke to them just as Jesus had told

them

, and they gave them permission.

Mark 11:7

They brought the colt to Jesus and put their coats on it; and He sat on it.

Mark 11:8

And many spread their coats in the road, and others

spread

leafy branches which they had cut from the fields.

Mark 11:9-10

Those who went in front and those who followed were shouting: “Hosanna!

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; 10 Blessed

is

the coming kingdom of our father David; Hosanna in the highest!”

This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

25 O LORD, do save, we beseech You; O LORD, we beseech You, do send prosperity!

26 Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD; We have blessed you from the house of the LORD. (Psalm 118:24-26).

The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief corner

stone

.

23 This is the LORD’S doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. (Psalm 118:22-23).

Mark 11:11

came

Jesus entered Jerusalem

and

into the temple; and after looking around at everything, He left for Bethany with the twelve, since it was already late.

John 12:12-13

On the next day the large crowd who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jerusalem, 13 Jesus was coming to took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and

began

to shout, "Hosanna!

Blessed is Him who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel."

John 12:14-15

Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, 15 “Fear not, Daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Seated on a donkey’s colt.”

John 12:16

These things His disciples did not understand at the first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things to Him.

Luke 19:37-38

As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, 38 shouting: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Luke 19:39-40

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.

” 40 But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!”

Luke 19:41-42

When He approached

Jerusalem

, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, 42 “If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.

Luke 19:43-44

“For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side, 44 and they will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.

John 12:17-18

So the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead, continued to testify

about Him

.

18 For this reason also the people went and met Him, because they heard that He had performed this sign.

John 12:19

So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are not doing any good; look, the world has gone after Him.

John 12:20-22

Now there were some Greeks among those who were going up to worship at the feast; 21 these then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and

began to

ask him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” 22 Philip came and told Andrew; Andrew and Philip came and told Jesus.

John 12:23-25

And saying, Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

25 He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal.

John 12:26-27

“If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

27 Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, this ‘Father, save Me from hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.

John 12:28-29

“Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

” 29 So the crowd

of people

who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, angel has spoken to Him.

” “An

John 12:30-33

Jesus answered and said, “This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes.

31 Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.

32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.

” 33 But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die.

John 12:34

The crowd then answered Him, “We have heard out of the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

John 12:35-36

So Jesus said to them, “For a little while longer the Light is among you.

Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes.

36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light.

” These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and hid Himself from them.

John 12:37-38

But though He had performed so many signs before them,

yet

they were not believing in Him.

38

This was

to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: "Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

John 12:39-41

For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, 40 “He has blinded their eyes and He hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes and perceive with their converted and I heal heart, them”: and 41 be These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke of Him.

John 12:42-43

Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing

Him

, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue; approval of men approval of God.

43 for they loved the rather than the

John 12:44-46

And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me.

45 He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me.

46 I have come

as

Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.

John 12:47-48

“If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.

John 12:49-50

“For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment

as to

what to say and what to speak.

50 I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.

Mark 11:12-13

On the next day, when they had left Bethany, He became hungry.

13 Seeing at a distance a fig tree in leaf, He went

to see

if perhaps He would find anything on it; and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

Mark 11:14

He said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” And His disciples were listening.

Mark 11:15-16

Then they came to Jerusalem.

And He entered the temple and began to drive out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves; 16 and He would not permit anyone to carry merchandise through the temple.

Mark 11:17

them, And He

began

to teach and say to “Is it not written, ‘'My house shall be called a house of prayer for the nations’?

But you have made it a robbers’ den.”

Mark 11:18-19

heard The chief priests and the scribes

this

, and

began

seeking how to destroy Him; for they were afraid of Him, for the whole crowd was astonished at His teaching.

19 When evening came, they would go out of the city.
