VIVES
• From September 2013 onwards, KATHO and KHBO have become VIVES, as
a result of the cooperation between KATHO, with campuses in Kortrijk,
Roeselare, Tielt, Torhout and KHBO, with campuses in Brugge and
Oostende.
• At this moment, mergers in the field of higher education are a common
trend in Flanders. With approximately 13,000 students, VIVES is the
biggest university college in Flanders.
• You will notice the change of names on the Internet and in our email
addresses. As to the Erasmus ID-codes for the academic year 2013/14 this
change will not have any effect. KATHO keeps the Erasmus ID-code
B KORTRIJ01, whereas KHBO keeps the Erasmus ID-code B BRUGGE11.
• Students and staff of the VIVES University College formerly known as

VIVES Campus Kortrijk, Roeselare, Tielt, Torhout has more
than 250 international exchange partners worldwide and is
also a valued member of several Erasmus thematic
networks.
Every year we have about 200 foreign students who come to
study at VIVES Campus Kortrijk, Roeselare, Tielt, Torhout, a
number only equalled by the number of outgoing students.

INTERNATIONAL
Annually, about 150 lecturers go abroad and during the
International Weeks (organised at study area level) we host
at least 80 foreign colleagues.
Our incoming students enjoy a special programme
depending on the study area they have selected and they
take part in our weekly, modular courses on Global Issues of
the 21st Century".
