and grant program to assist eligible
farmers, ranchers, and rural small
businesses in purchasing renewable
energy systems and for making
energy efficiency improvements.

- Must be in an area under 50,000
- Meet SBA size standards for small business
OR
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Agricultural Producers
- Individual or entity directly engaged in the
production of agricultural products
- Includes crops, livestock, forestry,
hydroponics, nursery stock and aquaculture
- Must derive 50% or greater of their
gross income from operations

DEFINITIONS
• Renewable Energy: Energy derived from a
wind, solar, biomass, hydro or geothermal
source; or hydrogen derived from biomass or
water using wind, solar, biomass, or
geothermal energy sources.
• Renewable Energy System: A system that
produces or produces and delivers usable
energy from a renewable energy source.
DEFINITIONS
• Energy efficiency improvement:
Improvements to a facility, building, or
process that reduces energy
consumption, or reduces energy
consumed per square foot.
GRANTS
• Grants can be used for up to 25% of the
eligible total project costs
GRANTS
• Energy Efficiency system grants will
have a minimum grant request of
$1,500 up to a maximum of $250,000
• Renewable energy system grants will
be a minimum grant request of $2,500;
not to exceed a maximum of $500,000
