Goals & Objectives of this Breakout Session
Participants will be able to :
• Describe the purpose of a FIMR program in relation to
reducing fetal and infant mortality at the community level.
• Explain the 4 steps in the FIMR process model and discuss
how implementation leads to improved community
resources and service delivery systems.
• Synthesize the principles of the IHB-FIMR Program, navigate
the National FIMR website and begin applying FIMR tools to
new program development.
• Understand the role of the FIMR Case Review Team
through the sharing of experienced CRT members
• Have the opportunity to ask questions of FIMR CRT Members
& Staff

wherein everyone has a contribution to
make and everyone learns from the
process. The case study findings indicate
that because the FIMR process extends
beyond problem identification to promote
problem solutions, observable changes
in practice and programs occur; ‘things
get fixed’ and participants are inspired to
take further action.”
