GRANTWRITING TIME
MANAGEMENT
Why Grantwriting?
• Important to submit proposals within 2-3
years of starting teaching career: funding
agency won’t readily grant to experienced
teacher who is a non-researcher.
• Oklahoma does not have enough state
money to significantly improve higher
education
GRANTWRITING TIME
MANAGEMENT
Why Time Management?
• Most 2 year schools in Oklahoma
have a standard 15 credit hour per
semester teaching assignment
• Most 4 year schools have a standard
12 credit hour per semester teaching
assignment

Analyze chart – and put aside
Go back to it and re-analyze

Base this on priorities --Keep what you are obligated to do
Keep what you really like
Keep what keeps you sane and
healthy
BE REASONABLE!
USE NEW TIME….
Now that you have organized so you
have some time….
USE NEW TIME….
• Organize grantwriting into small
steps
• Search first
• Read first
• Learn first
• Make an outline first
• Use small time blocks
CANNOT DO IT….

• Think about it again later.
