Camp Tecumseh Riverside School seventh grade students, staff, parents, and High School counselors Camp Tecumseh Located near Brookston, Indiana…not far from Purdue country. Language Arts (6 major activities) Mathematics (4 major activities) Science (7 major activities) Social Studies (3 major activities) Physical Education (3 activities) These activities correspond with the Indiana State Standards for 7th grade and will be included in student grades. Camp Tecumseh High School counselors lead all the lessons and activities. They become role models. Camp Tecumseh The Black Hole Camp Tecumseh Archery Camp Tecumseh Mt. Wood Camp Tecumseh Square Dancing Camp Tecumseh Crazy Olympics Camp Tecumseh EVENING ENTERTAINMENT Teacher and counselor skits Camp Dates Session 1: Nov. 2- Nov. 4 Lane (all periods) and Ogle (periods 2-4) Session 2: Nov. 4- Nov. 6 Pentecost (all periods) and Ogle (periods 5-7) Students who do not attend camp, DO attend school the dates of their camp session. They will receive a supplemental packet to work on at school. Cost and Permission Slips $135.00 (Checks made out to RJH) Include student name (first and last) in memo section Do not staple check to permission slip Turn into your social studies teacher! NEVER LEAVE ON A TEACHER’S DESK!! Other Cost Information Permission slip must be turned in with camp fee by October 9th or BEFORE! For funding issues, see Miss P or Mr.Cooke or email [email protected] No $$ is necessary at camp, however if students would like to purchase Camp Tecumseh merchandise they may bring extra money. Behavior Expectations Behavior issues prior to camp may prevent students from attending. All school rules (and dress code) apply at camp. (except hats) Students who cannot follow the rules will have their parents contacted to come and pick them up AT CAMP regardless of the time of day or night. No refunds will be issued for behavior dismissals. Departure Day Students must be at school by 8:15 Wed departure time TBA Parent rides recommended, due to the amount of gear (limit: 1 bag, 1 bedroll) Luggage should be placed by the student’s bus number •Students should keep a copy of their bus, cabin, table, and trail group information WITH THEM. •Students must pack a lunch for the 1st day only. Disposable containers preferred. What to Pack Be prepared for ANY weather, this is Indiana! Dress in layers Bring extra shoes – we play in the creek! Bring OLD clothes – we sit on the ground, muddy or not! Toiletries Towels – warm showers are available Bed roll or sleeping bag and pillow NO electronics! No food items – refillable water bottle encouraged! NO Worries…. We will send out Departure Day information, Packing Lists, and Student Assignments a week before camp. Medications and the extra medication form need to be turned into Nurse Murray the week before camp. (On the permission slip make sure you check the box in the lower left hand corner to indicate that you need a medication form.) Cabin Parents Needed Background check on file Encouraged, but not required, to supervise on bus ride Sleep in cabins with students for supervision Assist with some activities $25 donations suggested Get a cabin parent form TONIGHT Cabin parents selected on a first-comefirst-served basis, so if your student will need an adult or you want to be secured a spot, turn in a form asap! IMPORTANT INFORMATION All money and permission slips are due between now and October 9th to your social studies teacher. Camp is November 2nd - November 6th.
