Leaven Naturally
What is leaven? Leaven or yeast is a little bit of sour dough, and when
placed in a batch of dough has the action of fermentation. Leaven
puffs up. It works silently, secretly and gradually, until the whole is
leavened. All the dough is affected by its mysterious operation and
fermentation. It causes the dough to rise. Its influence permeates the
whole until all is leavened, until all becomes like itself.
The Hebrew word used for leavening in Scripture is Chametz. It
literally means 'sour'. It is that essence by which things decay. It is a
fermentation process - a process of death.
Leaven Spiritually
The word leaven occurs ninety-eight times in the Bible— seventy-five
times in the Old Testament and about twenty-three times in the New
Testament—and it is always used in a bad sense except once in
Matthew 13:33. In every other instance that leaven is used in
scripture it is used to symbolize evil, either in doctrine or practice.
Leaven typifies sin, human weakness, infirmities, false doctrine, and
corrupt practices.
The Hebrew word used for leavening in Scripture is Chametz. It
literally means 'sour'. It is that essence by which things decay. It is a
fermentation process - a process of death.
The Leaven we want to look at is the Leaven of the Sadducees.
Matthew 16:6
Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the
Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Bad Doctrine
Mat 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come
to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath
warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
The sadducees did not believe in the supernatural, no angels, no
miracles, no resurrection , nor did they believe in spirits. They were
the agnostics of their day.
Act 23:8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection,
neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
Agnostic (An). A term invented by Prof. Huxley in 1885 to indicate the mental
attitude of those who withhold their assent to whatever is incapable of proof,
such as the absolute. In regard to miracles and revelation, agnostics neither
dogmatically accept nor reject such matters, but simply say Agnosco - I do not
know - they are not capable of proof.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he
that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
I wanna
see a
sign!
Mat 16:1 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting
desired him that he would show them a sign from heaven.
Mat 16:2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say,
It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
Mat 16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky
is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the
sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
Mat 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and
there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah.
And he left them, and departed.
Mat 27:41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and
elders, said,
Mat 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel,
let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
Mat 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's
belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the
heart of the earth.
Mat 22:23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that
there is no resurrection, and asked him,
Mat 22:24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children,
his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
Mat 22:25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when
he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife
unto his brother:
Mat 22:26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
Mat 22:27 And last of all the woman died also.
Mat 22:28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the
seven? for they all had her.
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand .........No believing=No hope , No hope = no faith, no faith=
no understanding
Mat 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing
the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in
marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Mat 22:31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not
read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
Mat 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God
of Jacob God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Mat 22:33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at
his doctrine.
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
If you don't believe Genesis 1:1 you won't believe what comes
after it either. Beware of people and teachings that steal, your
hope and your faith.
Many young people have their faith challenged by modern day
sadducees at college
1Ti 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust,
avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science
falsely so called:
Psa 14:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in
his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done
abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
The Sadducees did not believe in Heaven or hell
I hate

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men
once to die, but after this the judgment:
Many Modern day Sadducees preach there is no hell
The word Hell is Found 54 times in the Bible. In the Old testament the Hebrew word is Shehole. Hell
is translated in the Greek as three words Hades, tartaros and gehenna.
Mar 9:45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is
better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two
feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall
be quenched:
Many Modern day Sadducees preach Universalism
Universalism teaches everyone will be saved & no
one goes to hell
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be
saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
The sadducees were critics of Gods word

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness:
The sadducees would say seeing is believing but the
bible says believing is seeing!
Joh 8:56 Your father

my day: and he saw it, and
was glad.
Joh 8:57 Then said the
Jews unto him, Thou art

hast thou seen Abraham?

them, Verily, verily, I say
unto you, Before Abraham
was, I am.
Psa 27:13 I had fainted, unless I had
believed to see
goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

The problem with old and modern sadducees is that
they lean on their own understanding!
Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; (not thy head)
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct
thy paths.
To Illustrate how we need to trust God and
not lean to our own understanding we are
going to visit flatland

1Sa 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his
countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have
refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man
looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on
the heart.
"How can God be near us, yet no one
can see Him?"
GOD
Two dimensional "Flatlanders" can't perceive a
hand a fraction of an inch away, because the hand
is outside their two dimensional universe.
Heb 13:5 for he hath said, I will never leave

Job 23:8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there;

by the Flatlanders and would be impossible to

GOD
What’s not possible with man is possible with
God who is not limited to our 3 dimensional
world. Faith gives us access to God’s Dimension
who is not limited by time or space.

Many Christian young men and women we have sent off to our
universities to get a higher education only to have their faith mocked
and belittled by “mental midgets” who scoff at the notion of a
loving creator who made the universe and all things therein.

Jud 1:10 Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not
understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like
unreasoning animals--these are the very things that destroy them.
Although I have included some humor make no

THE AWFUL DEATH OF AN INFIDEL SON- Dying Testimonies Of Saved And
Unsaved by Solomon Benjamin Shaw
"I will never be guilty of founding my hopes for the future upon such a
compiled mess of trash as is contained in that book (the Bible), mother. Talk
o] that's being the production of an Infinite mind; a boy ten years of age, if
he was half-witted, could have told a straighter story, and made a better
book. I believe it to be the greatest mess of lies ever imposed upon the
public. I would rather go to hell (if there is such a place) than have the name
of bowing to that impostor -- Jesus Christ -- and be dependent on his merits
for salvation."
"Beware! Beware! my son, 'for God is not mocked,' although 'He beareth with
the wicked long, yet he will not keep His anger forever.' And 'all manner of
sin shall be forgiven men, except the sin against the Holy Ghost, which has
no forgiveness.' And many are the examples, both in sacred and profane
history, of men who have been smitten down in the midst of their sinning
against that blessed Spirit."
"Very well, father, I'll risk all the cutting down that I shall get for cursing that
book, and all the agonies connected therewith. Let it come, I'm not at all
scared."
"O Father, lay not this sin to his charge, for he knows not what he does."
"Yes, I do know what I'm about, and what I say -- and mean it."
"John, do you mean to drive your mother raving distracted? Oh, my God!
what have I done that this dreadful trial should come upon me in my old
age?"
"Mother, if you don't want to hear me speak my sentiments, why do you
always begin the subject? If you do not want to hear it, don't ever broach the
subject again, for I shall never talk of that book, in any other way."
The above conversation took place between two fond parents and an only
son, who was at home on a visit from college, and now was about to return.
And the cause of this outburst was, the kind-hearted Christian parents had
essayed to give him a few words of kind admonition, which, alas! proved to
be the last. And the above were his last words which he spoke to them as he
left the house.
John B. left his home and hastened to the depot where he took the cars
which were to bear him to college where he was in a few months to finish
his studies. The whistle blew, and away swept the cars "across the
trembling plain." But alas! they had gone but a few miles, when the cars,
coming round a curve in a deep cut, came suddenly upon an obstruction on
the track, which threw the engine and two of the cars at once from the rails.
As fate would seem to have it, the wicked son (John B.) was that moment
passing between them. He was thrown in an instant from the platform, his
left arm being "broken, and his skull fractured by the fall; and in an instant
one of the wheels passed directly over both his legs near the body, breaking
and mangling them in the most dreadful manner. Strange as it may seem, no
one else was injured. The dreadful news soon reached his already griefstricken parents; and ere long that beloved, yet ungrateful son, was borne
back to them; not as he left, but lying upon a litter a poor, mangled, raving
maniac.
Pro 30:17 The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother, the ravens
of the valley will pick it out, and the young vultures will devour it. [Lev. 20:9;
Prov. 20:20; 23:22.]
Why these pious parents were called to pass through this dreadful trial, He
"whose ways are in the deep and past finding out," only knows; except that
by this sad example of His wrath many might be saved. Many skillful
physicians were called, but the fiat of the Almighty had gone forth, and man
could not recall it.
When the news reached the college, his class-mates hastened to see him.
When they came, nature was fast sinking, but the immortal part was
becoming dreadfully alive.
Oh! that heart-rending scene. His reason returning brought with it a dreadful
sense of his situation. His first words were, and oh, may never mortal hear
such a cry as that again upon the shores of time:
"Mother! I'm lost! lost! lost! damned! damned! damned forever!" and as his
class-mates drew near to the bed, among whom was the one who had
poisoned his mind with infidelity, with a dreadful effort he rose in the bed
and cried, as he fixed his glaring eyes upon him: "J___, you have brought me
to this, you have damned my soul! May the curses of the Almighty and the
Lamb rest upon your soul forever.“
Col 2:8 (AMP) See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves
captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and
plain nonsense), following human tradition (men's ideas of the material rather than the
spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of
the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).
Then like a hellish fiend, he gnashed his teeth, and tried to get hold of him
that he might tear him in pieces. Then followed a scene from which the
strongest fled with horror. But those poor parents had to hear and see it all,
for he would not suffer them to be away a moment. He fell back upon his bed
exhausted, crying, "O mother! mother, get me some water to quench this fire
that is burning me to death"; then he tore his hair and rent his breast; the
fire had already begun to burn, the smoke of which shall ascend up for ever
and ever. And then again he cried, "O mother, save me, the devils have come
after me. O mother, take me in your arms, and don't let them have me." And
as his mother drew near to him, he buried his face in that fond bosom which
had nourished and cherished him, but, alas, could not now protect or shield
from the storm of the Almighty's wrath, for he turned from her, and with an
unearthly voice he shrieked, "Father! mother! father, save me; they come to
drag my soul -- my soul to hell." And with his eyes starting from their
sockets, he fell back upon his bed a corpse. The spirit had fled -- not like
that of Lazarus, borne on the wings of a convoy of angels, but dragged by
fiends to meet a fearful doom. May his dreadful fall prove a warning to those
who would unwittingly walk in the same path. -- Earnest Christian,
September, 1867
We are in danger of this leaven when we lose sight of eternity!
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were
thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (the
