
Major revision of rules for ‘call for proposals’
before June 1st 2007 deadline

More flexible ToO policy agreed with CBD,
May/Nov 2007

Poster advertising campaign for Feb 1st deadline
(initiated by management team)

Plan for eVLBI science conference, Nov 2008?
Proposal Mechanisms (I)


‘Old Rules’ (before June 2007), a specific
proposal deadline 2 weeks before each run.
‘New Rules’, June 1st, Oct 1st, Feb 1st.
- General proposals, any purpose, inc
monitoring, allow spectral line,18,6,5,1.3cm
- Triggered proposals, to be activated within
24hrs of a run based on a trigger condition
being fulfilled
- Short obs (<3hrs)
Proposal Mechanisms (II)


Target of Opportunity rules, agreed CBD
May 2007 (led by group headed by

New face-to-face eVSAG meeting is a
deliverable, around May 2008.
Another deliverable, EXPReS Science conference,
optimum 4 months before project end,
November, in Crete?? Or later if we extend
project?
Should we extend scope slightly to ‘Real time
Long Baseline radio astronomy’ – allow
LOFAR, eMERLIN etc etc input as well EXPReS,
help eVLBI reach wider audience?
