Rule 14B Update
Wording Change…
In the event of a default, the defaulting team must
provide the names of both players to the series
leader before the match is defaulted. All 4
players’ names on the defaulted court must be
on the score sheet as if they had played. Only
the bottom team can use “no player available”.
Players on the defaulted court are not permitted to
play for another team that week.
Mid-Season Series Adjustments
we cannot guarantee an equal number
of home/away matches during the
season and
we cannot guarantee that some teams
might not have to travel to some of the
same locations twice during the season
Board will vote at the end of the
season to adopt or reject this change
going forward. Players will be asked for
input in the End of Season Survey
The State of NJ Paddle
• Meeting held in April with reps from a number of NJ
leagues, National Tournament organizers, APTA reps and
well known people in NJ paddle
NJ does not have one single point of
contact for the sport of paddle
NJ would like to host APTA Nationals in 5
years
NJ paddle support of APTA could use
some work
NJ would like to do more to grow the sport
And so…
• We’re going to be part of an open dialogue to
determine who and how NJ would manage future NJ
APTA National Tournaments
• We’re going to help fund and support the next APTA
Nat’ls in NJ (2018?)
• We’re going to encourage greater participation from
players in NJ through
A- and C tournaments
APTA & NJWPTL

the sport of platform tennis in the U. S.
