If not, simply tap the blank screen. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation Touch the screen to turn on the computer projector. This will allow you to direct video and audio signals. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation Outside of regular class hours (or paid event hours) the touchpanel will be disabled. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation For all classes, and for events requesting use, the panel will be enabled. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation Now, simply select a source to display. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation When you select VCR you’ll see this screen. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation This panel controls the VCR just like a remote control. Buttons on the front of the deck can also be used. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation To turn off video projection temporarily, use ‘Video Mute’. (‘Video Mute’ does not mute the audio or stop the tape) SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation When you select DVD you’ll see this screen. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation These panels now allow you to control the DVD player. This is the ‘Transport Control’ screen. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation Power Front A/V Inputs VCR/DVD Controls If an external device is needed, it can be connected via the front A/V inputs. The VCR must then be switched to ‘LINE 2’ by pressing the tracking up/down buttons on the front of the player. This device can now be controlled by using the VCR button on the AMX panel. In addition to the front USB inputs, there are two USB extension cables located in the cable cubby. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation When you select Laptop Computer you’ll see this screen. They control the volume for whatever device is being projected. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation Lights The buttons control different banks of lights in the room. Tap once to turn OFF, tap again to turn ON. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation Help This is the same information listed next to the phone. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation Power Off Tap to shut down Tap to cancel Upon system shutdown, the projector will turn off and won’t be able to project again for roughly two minutes. SmartClassrooms V.1 Equipment Operation Some rooms have a slightly different touchpanel, where the six buttons from the right side are now on the screen. SmartClassrooms V.2 Equipment Operation Classrooms refreshed since Summer 2012 have almost all new equipment, including a new style of touchpanel. SmartClassrooms V.2 Equipment Operation Just as with the other touchpanels, your first step should be selecting a source to display. SmartClassrooms V.2 Equipment Operation All refreshed lecterns have an auxiliary microphone input, and rooms with over 50 seats have a gooseneck lectern mic. Classrooms with Installed Technology SmartClassrooms V.1 Rooms (2003-2011) V.2 Rooms (2012-present) Smart Lecture Halls Other Rooms Helpful Information Other Rooms A growing number of OIT computer labs contain SmartClassroom technology maintained by CTS: AIRB 1020 SBSG G240 MSTB 210 SBSG G241 MSTB 226 SST 104 NS1 2144 SST 107 These rooms are not general assignment classrooms, and are scheduled exclusively by OIT. Other Rooms Many other schools and departments have followed the SmartClassroom model, installing their own equipment in departmentally controlled rooms. Some have very similar lecterns and controls, but CTS does not manage the equipment in these other rooms. Events should be coordinated through Student Center & Event Services. (x45252) For non-class-related events using equipment, fees may be applied. CTS requires 1 business day notice for SmartClassroom access. Helpful Information Classroom Access Most classrooms are unlocked automatically on weekdays between 7:30am and 10:30pm. For after hours access to most SmartClassrooms, a keycard must be picked up from CTS. Keycards are only active for the room(s) booked on the dates and times of your event. Helpful Information Classroom Access Keycard Readers: Simply hold the card up to the reader until the light turns green. The door will click, unlock for 5 seconds, and then re-lock. Reader styles vary, but they all work the same way. To request from CTS, talk to your department business office and have them fill out an Equipment Rental Request Form. Three business days notice is generally required for all equipment rentals.
