26, 1564 in
Stratford-UponAvon, England.
 His birthday is
celebrated on
April 23rd.

 William attended grammar school
(secondary school) and learned Latin

 In 1582, Shakespeare married Anne
Hathaway. She was eight years older

Burbage built the first
permanent theatre
outside of London.
When the landlord
threatened to take
over in 1599, Burbage
and others moved the
theatre across the
river and named it
“The Globe”
