‘ If you want to identify me, ask me not where I live, or what I like to eat, or how I comb my hair, but ask me what I think I am living for , in detail and ask me what I think is keeping me from living fully the thing I want to live for .
Between these 2 answers you can determine the identity of any person. The better answer they have , the more of a person they are.
Thomas Merton

Our relationship with God
‘The forming of the soul that it might be a dwelling place for God is the primary work of the Christian leader. This is not an add-on, an option, or a third-level priority. Without this core activity, one almost guarantees that she/he will not last in leadership for a life-time or that what work is accomplished will become less and less reflective of God's honour and God's purposes.
’
Gordon MacDonald
For most of us, the great danger is not that we will renounce our faith. It is that we will become so distracted and rushed and preoccupied that we will settle for a mediocre version of it. We will just skim our lives instead of actually living them.’ John Ortberg

Self-leadership. Nobody - I mean nobody - can do this work for us. Every leader has to do this work alone, and it isn’t easy. In fact, because it’s such tough work most leaders avoid it. We would rather try to inspire or control the behaviour of others than face the rigorous work of self reflection and inner growth.
Bill Hybels
