SITUATION:
CSI Software wanted to eliminate the infrastructure costs inherent with its on-premises hosting
environment. But the company had a lot of requirements for a new solution that would allow it to
migrate its multi-tenant SpectrumNG application, the backbone of its software.

WINDOWS AZURE CASE STUDY
To meet its technical and business needs, CSI Software chose
Windows Azure's Platform-as-a-Service offering for its hosting
environment. SpectrumNG leverages a combination of web and
worker roles to provide online user experiences through rich
desktop and browser clients. The web and worker roles also
provide a set of web service API's that CSI Software's applications
and third-party vendors depend upon. For storage, its uses
Windows Azure SQL Database, along with a SQL Server farm of
virtual machines for select customers. Messaging between roles is
accomplished through Windows Azure Queue storage service.
