ARE YOU READY?
The Bible says we must be ready to share.
1 Timothy 6:17 Command those who are rich in
this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in
uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives
us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good,
that they be rich in good works, ready to give,
willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a
good foundation for the time to come, that they
may lay hold on eternal life.
Acts 2:44 Now all who believed were together,
and had all things in common, 45 and sold their
possessions and goods, and divided them among
all, as anyone had need.
Acts 4:34 Nor was there anyone among them who
lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or
houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of
the things that were sold, 35 and laid them at
the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as
anyone had need.
Titus 3:1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and
authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good
work,
Being ready to do good works is not limited to
those inside the church because Paul also wrote:
Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity,
let us do good to all, especially to those who are
of the household of faith.
Luke 10:30 Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man
went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves,
who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed,
leaving him half dead. 31 "Now by chance a certain priest
came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on
the other side. 32 "Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the
place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33
"But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was.
And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 "So he went to
him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he
set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took
care of him. 35 "On the next day, when he departed, he took
out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him,
'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come
again, I will repay you.' 36 "So which of these three do you
think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?" 37
And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said
to him, "Go and do likewise."
God is not asking us do anything He is not willing
to do.
The Bible says we must be ready to forgive.
Luke 17:3 "Take heed to yourselves. If your
brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he
repents, forgive him. 4 "And if he sins against
you seven times in a day, and seven times in a
day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall
forgive him."
Matthew 6:14 "For if you forgive men their
trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive
you. 15 "But if you do not forgive men their
trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your
trespasses.
Are you ready to forgive those who repent?
Acts 21:8 On the next day we who were Paul's
companions departed and came to Caesarea, and entered
the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the
seven, and stayed with him. 9 Now this man had four
virgin daughters who prophesied. 10 And as we stayed
many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down
from Judea. 11 When he had come to us, he took Paul's
belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, "Thus says
the Holy Spirit, 'So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the
man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of
the Gentiles.' " 12 Now when we heard these things, both
we and those from that place pleaded with him not to go
up to Jerusalem. 13 Then Paul answered, "What do you
mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready
not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the
name of the Lord Jesus."
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without
covetousness; be content with such things as you
have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave
you nor forsake you." 6 So we may boldly say:
"The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can
man do to me?"
Matthew 10:28 "And do not fear those who kill
the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear
Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in
hell.
Is your faith in God strong enough that you
would be willing to die for His cause or do you
find yourself shying away from God just because
you are afraid of hurting someone’s feelings, or
you are afraid they might not like you any more?
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God, that you present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be
conformed to this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind, that you may prove
what is that good and acceptable and perfect will
of God.
When we strive to be ready to follow Jesus all the
way, we can say the same thing that Paul said at
the end of his life:
2 Timothy 4:6 For I am already being poured out
as a drink offering, and the time of my departure
is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have
finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally,
there is laid up for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me
only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Are your ready for the Judgment Day?
Matthew 24:36 " But of that day and hour no one knows,
not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37
"But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of
the Son of Man be. 38 "For as in the days before the
flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving
in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39
"and did not know until the flood came and took them all
away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40
"Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and
the other left. 41 "Two women will be grinding at the
mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 "Watch
therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is
coming. 43 "But know this, that if the master of the
house had known what hour the thief would come, he
would have watched and not allowed his house to be
broken into. 44 "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son
of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Matthew 25:1 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall
be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps
and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 "Now
five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3
"Those who were foolish took their lamps and
took no oil with them, 4 "but the wise took oil in
their vessels with their lamps. 5 "But while the
bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and
slept. 6 "And at midnight a cry was heard:
'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to
meet him!' 7 "Then all those virgins arose and
trimmed their lamps.
8 "And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some
of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' 9 "But
the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should
not be enough for us and you; but go rather to
those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' 10 "And
while they went to buy, the bridegroom came,
and those who were ready went in with him to
the wedding; and the door was shut. 11
"Afterward the other virgins came also, saying,
'Lord, Lord, open to us!' 12 "But he answered and
said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.'
13 "Watch therefore, for you know neither the
day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is
coming.
Are you like the wise or unwise virgins?
On that day, the Word of God will judge us:
John 12:48 "He who rejects Me, and does not
receive My words, has that which judges him -the word that I have spoken will judge him in the
last day.
We will stand before Jesus and give an account
for what we have done with our lives:
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before
the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may
receive the things done in the body, according to
what he has done, whether good or bad.
