Early life
Patton joined the military
academy and graduated in 1909
and eventually became a
general in the United States
Army.
Why did he join the Army?
George Smith Patton joined the
U.S. Army because he was born
into a family who took great
pride in their military tradition.
Later On
• After Patton joined the U.S.
Army, he was in the 1916
Mexican Expedition, he
launched a nighttime surprise
crossing over the Rhine in 1945,
and he launched a lot more
surprise missions.
How did George Patton
impact the world at the
time ?
General Patton was famous for
leading many attacks against
the enemy. His dramatic
manner, toughness and rough
way of speaking earned him the
nickname “Old Blood and Guts.”
The death of General Patton
George Smith Patton died as a
decorated four star general on
December 21, 1945 after a car
accident that happened on
December 9th. He died in
Heidelberg, Germany.
