The junction of the theory, the tools and the practice of knowledge; 2. The balance between cohesion and autonomy; and 3. The use of the game like learning tool. THEORETICAL “SYSTEMS THINKING” IDEAS INTRODUCED IN THE DESIGN OF THE COURSE • Balance between cohesion and autonomy • Integration between discursive and practical dominions • Capability to know and use rules • Care for the self and the other selves • Strategic thinking • Production of trust • Competition and cooperation BALANCE BETWEEN COHESION… THE STUDENTS MUST ACCEPT: • The General Regulations for Students of Universidad de los Andes. • The established topics. • The members of the teacher staff. • The transformation function of the points earned in the game. • The grades of the examinations. • Amongst other aspects. …AND AUTONOMY GRANTED IN THOSE ASPECTS THAT MAKE STUDENTS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN LEARNING PROCESS • Students learn to manage their own time as part of their training. • Students decides the themes on which they develop their assignments. PENSAJISTAN GAME Presentation The purpose of the game is to represent the social and environmental interrelations in which organizations participate. The system in Pensajistan is conformed by: the “State” and the subjects or citizens. Players earn “holons” (h$) selling goods and services to the Public System or exporting in the international market; through dividends earned by the corporations that conform them, or by taking control of the State. PENSAJISTAN GAME CONSTITUTIVE RULES: Rule of Purpose The purpose of the game is to accrue capital. The capital is represented in holons. Capital is accrued by the production of knowledge in the field of systems thinking. Accomplish the purpose of the game only at the end of the semester. Accomplish the purpose of the course by taking power of the State. PENSAJISTAN GAME REGULATIVE RULES: Rules of Arbitration Declarative rules The ICNS – International Community of Nomad States – is the entity in charge of evaluating the quality of the products and services produced by students. This corresponds to the International Community. Additionally, the only valid accounting to declare the accomplishment of the purpose of the game is that of the Central Bank of Pensajistan. Such entities are managed by the teacher staff of the course, and even after the revolution they are maintained as autonomous entities. Negotiation rules Whenever there are breaches between any of the integrants of the State of Pensajistan, they are dissolved by two instances: the Supreme Court of Justice of Pensajistan and the Council of the Faculty of engineering of Universidad de los Andes.
