HEAVEN
What is heaven?
Webster 1. the expanse of space that seems to be
over the earth like a dome
2. the dwelling place of the Deity and the joyful
abode of the blessed dead. A spiritual state of
everlasting communion with God.
Revelation 21:9 Then one of the seven angels
who had the seven bowls filled with the seven
last plagues came to me and talked with me,
saying, "Come, I will show you the bride, the
Lamb's wife."
10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great
and high mountain, and showed me the great
city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of
heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God.
Her light was like a most precious stone, like a
jasper stone, clear as crystal. 12 Also she had a
great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve
angels at the gates, and names written on them,
which are the names of the twelve tribes of the
children of Israel: 13 three gates on the east,
three gates on the north, three gates on the
south, and three gates on the west. 14 Now the
wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on
them were the names of the twelve apostles of
the Lamb.
15 And he who talked with me had a gold reed to
measure the city, its gates, and its wall. 16 The
city is laid out as a square; its length is as great
as its breadth. And he measured the city with the
reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length,
breadth, and height are equal. 17 Then he
measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four
cubits, according to the measure of a man, that
is, of an angel. 18 The construction of its wall
was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like
clear glass. 19 The foundations of the wall of the
city were adorned with all kinds of precious
stones: the first foundation was jasper, the
second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth
emerald,
20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the
seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth
topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh
jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21 The twelve
gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate
was of one pearl. And the street of the city was
pure gold, like transparent glass. 22 But I saw no
temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the
Lamb are its temple. 23 The city had no need of
the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory
of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24
And the nations of those who are saved shall walk
in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their
glory and honor into it.
25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there
shall be no night there). 26 And they shall bring
the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27
But there shall by no means enter it anything that
defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but
only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of
Life. 22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water
of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the
throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle
of its street, and on either side of the river, was
the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each
tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of
the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse, but the
throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and
His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His
face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5
There shall be no night there: They need no lamp
nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them
light. And they shall reign forever and ever.
John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you
believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 "In My
Father's house are many mansions; if it were not
so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place
for you. 3 "And if I go and prepare a place for
you, I will come again and receive you to Myself;
that where I am, there you may be also. 4 "And
where I go you know, and the way you know." 5
Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know
where You are going, and how can we know the
way?" 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the
truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through Me.
Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to
die is gain. 22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will
mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose
I cannot tell. 23 For I am hard pressed between
the two, having a desire to depart and be with
Christ, which is far better. 24 Nevertheless to
remain in the flesh is more needful for you.
2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly
house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building
from God, a house not made with hands, eternal
in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly
desiring to be clothed with our habitation which
is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed,
we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in
this tent groan, being burdened, not because we
want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that
mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He
who has prepared us for this very thing is God,
who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
6 So we are always confident, knowing that while
we are at home in the body we are absent from
the Lord.
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are
confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent
from the body and to be present with the Lord. 9
Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or
absent, to be well pleasing to Him.
Why should we be interested in going to heaven?
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as
a thief in the night, in which the heavens will
pass away with a great noise, and the elements
will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and
the works that are in it will be burned up.
Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a
new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth
had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem,
coming down out of heaven from God, prepared
as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I
heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold,
the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will
dwell with them, and they shall be His people.
God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4 "And God will wipe away every tear from their
eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow,
nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the
former things have passed away."

God will be there.
God will wipe away ever tear.
There shall be no more death.
There is no sorrow there.
There will be no more crying.
Their shall be no more pain.
Revelation 14: 13 Then I heard a voice from
heaven saying to me, "Write: 'Blessed are the
dead who die in the Lord from now on.' " "Yes,"
says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their
labors, and their works follow them."
Matthew 25:46 "And these will go away into
everlasting punishment, but the righteous into
eternal life.“
Revelation 14:11 "And the smoke of their torment
ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest
day or night, who worship the beast and his
image, and whoever receives the mark of his
name.“
How can we make sure that we make it to heaven
and avoid the pits of hell?
Revelation 21:6 And He said to me, "It is done! I
am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and
the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of
life freely to him who thirsts. 7 "He who
overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be
his God and he shall be My son. 8 "But the
cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers,
sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all
liars shall have their part in the lake which burns
with fire and brimstone, which is the second
death."
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who do His
commandments, that they may have the right to
the tree of life, and may enter through the gates
into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and
sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers
and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a
lie.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we
keep His commandments. And His
commandments are not burdensome.
2 John 1:9 Whoever transgresses and does not
abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God.
He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both
the Father and the Son.
1 Corinthians 15:24 Then comes the end, when
He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when
He puts an end to all rule and all authority and
power.
Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is head of the
wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He
is the Savior of the body.
1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all
baptized into one body -- whether Jews or
Greeks, whether slaves or free -- and have all
been made to drink into one Spirit.
Acts 2:36 "Therefore let all the house of Israel
know assuredly that God has made this Jesus,
whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.“
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to
the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the
apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?"
38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let
every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 "For the
promise is to you and to your children, and to all
who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will
call." 40 And with many other words he testified
and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this
perverse generation." 41 Then those who gladly
received his word were baptized; and that day
about three thousand souls were added to them.
Acts 2:47 And the Lord added to the church daily
those who were being saved.
Revelation 2:10 Be faithful until death, and I will
give you the crown of life.
