Transcript Day 5 pH Lab - Mrs. Kelly Science
Slide 1
Determine how to Balance pH
1.What pH would I add to neutralize a
substance with a starting pH of 4?
2. What about starting pH of 14?
SO…What do THIS mean??
pH Balancing
Adding an equally strong opposite to
bring a substance close to neutral.
1. Follow directions below to make cabbage juice
indicator.
2. Each group member tests the pH of their substance
using the cabbage juice indicator in a clear plastic cup.
Record your results.
Making Cabbage Juice Indicator
1. Rip the cabbage leaf into small pieces and place in plastic bag.
2. Add ¾ cup very warm water and seal the bag closed.
