During Installation During Operation EXIT 36
IP Telephone Installation Troubles (not exhaustive)
Phone display/buttons not lit Check power supply, power cord length (for international), self-test Installed normally, but no dial-tone Dynamic addressing: check volume, power, connection to switch (feature button?), then self-test Static: check ADDResses for accuracy, verify with LAN administrator, then check volume and self-test Mis-entered data during static addressing: “*” to clear current value, or continue on, save data, and start again, saving valid data with “#” 37 EXIT

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
During Installation During Operation EXIT 39
IP Telephone Operational Troubles (not exhaustive)
Audio Quality - the major anticipated problem Echo: swap CO trunk Trunk Termination parameter (note not all analog trunks have Echo Cancellation) Jitter (mis-assembled packets)/Latency(delay)/ Clipping (dropped packets): contact LAN administrator, check cabling (need CAT 5) TFTP application terminates, and begs for $ Short-term: re-start it Longer-term: Avaya looking into licensing an app Phone was moved, and no longer works Have LAN Administrator re-examine server addresses (e.g. improper DHCP server assigned).
EXIT 40
IP Telephone Operational Troubles (not exhaustive)
“Network” was moved; phone no longer works Have LAN Administrator re-examine server addresses Speaker does not work Check switch admin to ensure Speaker not turned off Phone does not ring (4612 or 4624) Use

RngOf
(Ringer Off) feature; downward triangle means the feature is off. Then check volume, self-test.
Echo, noise, or static when using headset, but handset performance is acceptable Verify M12LU(Preferred) or 3124-HIC adapters in use EXIT 41
