What is a Weekly World Watch?
The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to
events spoken of in the Bible. .
I hope to build up a picture of God’s hand working in the affairs of this world.
God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem
to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to
this earth. Jesus will then establish God’s kingdom on earth.
This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch.

The following six themes will appear repeatedly in WWW:
• Israel: The continuing conflict in the Middle East and focus on Jerusalem.
• Europe: Its developing union, both political and religious.
• Russia: Its return to anti-Western ways as Bible prophecy’s “king of the
north.”
• The UK and the US: Bible prophecy’s “king of the south.”
• Moral standards in decline and violence on the increase.

• Increasing natural disasters: including earthquake, famine etc

What is in a Weekly World Watch?
Each WWW looks at a few key developments that have happened during the
past week. It is in no way meant to be exhaustive – just a look at those events
I saw as significant from a Biblical point of view.
Every WWW event slide has the following format. To reveal each block of text

Russian missiles 'hit IS in Syria from Caspian Sea'

EVENT

Russian warships in the Caspian Sea have launched dozens of
missiles into Syria, sharply escalating a military campaign to shield the regime from
rebel forces. Travelling more than 900 miles, the missiles struck 11 targets inside the
war-torn country, officials said. In a video apparently showing their launch, bright white
lights seared through the sky, trailed by thick plumes of smoke.
Moscow's missiles added additional force to airstrikes backing a Syrian regime ground
offensive in four locations across the provinces of Hama and Idlib on Wednesday.
The deployment of cruise missiles and air strikes marked a significant escalation of the
campaign to shield the regime from rebel forces which began in earnest last week. It
was the first time operations had been openly coordinated with forces loyal to Bashar
al-Assad, one of the Kremlin’s only remaining allies in the Middle East.

COMMENT These missiles flew over Iraq and Iran to reach Syria. Why would Russia fire missiles

from such a long distance away when they have military jets that could do this based in
Syria? The answer may well be that sea-launched cruise missiles have long been a
favourite US weapon of choice in interventions overseas. So there may be an element
of Russia demonstrating that it has the full military capability of any other "superpower".
But all this adds to the increasing tensions between America and Russia. It is yet
another complication to a fraught situation. Putin actually released footage of the
missiles roaring into the sky on their deathly mission. President Putin praised the
Russian military, saying the armed forces were “well prepared”. It is interesting he said
this. The Bible says that Gog (Russian leader) would prepare for himself and for those
nations assembled with him eg Iran. The preparation is done. War has begun.

Obama to overhaul US approach to support rebels
Daily Telegraph, October 9, 2015

EVENT

The United States will largely abandon its failed efforts to train moderate Syrian rebels
fighting Islamic State, and instead provide arms and equipment directly to rebel
leaders and their units on the battlefield, the Obama administration said on Friday.
The U.S. announcement marked the effective end to a short-lived $580 million
program to train and equip units of fighters at sites outside of Syria, after its disastrous
launch this year fanned criticism of President Barack Obama's war strategy.
The Pentagon said it would shift its focus away from training to providing weapons
and other equipment to rebel groups whose leaders have passed a U.S. vetting
process to ensure they are not linked to militant Islamist groups. The strategy switch
comes as the Obama administration grapples with a dramatic change in the
landscape in Syria's four-year civil war, brought about by Russia's military intervention
in support of President Bashar al-Assad. Moscow's intervention has cast doubt on
Obama's strategy there and raised questions about U.S. influence in the region.

COMMENT Experts say that less than 10% of Russian strikes have hit ISIS. 90% at least have hit

weapons were released. In fact America said last week that only 5 people had been
trained and fully armed! So Obama today has announced the training is being

Here's how World War Three could start tomorrow

EVENT

It would only take a small spark to start a conflict between Nato and China or Russia unleashing previously unseen forms of warfare. For the last two decades, leaders in
London and Washington have become focused on operations in places like Sierra
Leona, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Syria, where the worry was, and is, weak
and imploding states. But bigger trends are at play globally. We are seeing the return
of great power politics – and with it, the risk of powerful states going to war.
Conflict with the likes of Russia or China was something that seemed buried with the
end of the Cold War. Yet today’s simmering tensions mean there is a risk of such an
outcome becoming all too real. As in the past, it is perfectly possible that a third world
war could start with a small event, or even by accident. One of the many Russian
bomber planes now probing NATO’s borders could collide with an RAF Typhoon,
prompting an aerial skirmish the likes of which the world has not seen for decades.

COMMENT When Jesus return shortly there will no excuse for us not being ready. Even those

without the knowledge of what is to happen can see how WW3 could occur now at any
time – even tomorrow! With Bible in hand we have seen (and can see) what is to come
because God in his mercy has told us in advance so we can prepare. Only a few weeks
ago there was no sign of Russia intending to join this war… and now here we are with
Russia sending cruise missiles 900 miles into Syria and bombing everyday against US
backed rebels. NATO has said today it is prepared to send troops to Turkey to defend
its ally after violations of Turkish airspace by Russian jets. The first stage of WW3 is
centred on Syria but it quickly develops into an invasion of Israel.

Netanyahu bans MPs from al-Aqsa compound

EVENT

Benjamin Netanyahu has banned MPs and cabinet ministers from going near al-Aqsa
mosque as six Israelis were injured in stabbing attacks across the country on
Thursday. The Israeli prime minister was criticised by members of his own coalition for
the ban on access to the volatile Jerusalem compound which initially applied to all
parliamentarians except for those who were Arab-Israelis. But following outraged
reactions from hard-liners within his own governing coalition, Mr Netanyahu
announced that all Knesset members would be barred from the site without exception.
The Jerusalem hilltop compound lies at the heart of recent tensions, known as alAqsa Mosque to Muslims and Temple Mount to Jews. It has increasingly become the
site of brutal clashes between Israelis and Palestinians. Many Palestinians believe
Israel is trying to expand the Jewish presence at the site, a claim Israel adamantly
denies. Under a longstanding arrangement administered by Islamic authorities, Jews
are allowed to visit the site during certain hours but not pray there.

COMMENT With the world’s focus on Syria perhaps the increasing crisis in Israel is going

unreported and unnoticed. For weeks now the tensions have escalated between Israel
and the Palestinians that live within Israel. It’s the Temple Mount site that is the centre
of the problems. To try to alleviate this issue Prime Minister Netanyahu banned Jewish
Cabinet ministers from visiting the site. But then there was uproar from Jews who
asked why were they being banned. So Netanyahu then banned all cabinet ministers
including Arab ones. They in turn have said they will ignore the ban and go on Sunday.
With Bible in hand we know that at the same time Syria goes up in flames Israel will
also be drawn into a war with its immediate enemies. The stage is being set for this.

A week of violence between Israelis and Palestinians spread to the Gaza Strip on
Friday, with Israeli troops killing five people in clashes on the border and Islamist group
Hamas calling for another intifada. In one of the bloodiest days since last year's Gaza
war, a fresh wave of stabbings also hit Israel and the West Bank, including a revenge
attack by a Jewish suspect that wounded two Palestinians and two Arab Israelis.
Ismail Hanniyeh, the Gaza-based leader of Hamas, declared a new uprising after Friday
prayers and urged his followers to ramp up attacks. “We are calling for the
strengthening and increasing of the intifada… It is the only path that will lead to
liberation,” Mr Haniyeh said, speaking at a mosque in Gaza City. In the wake of Mr
Haniyeh’s address, at least six Palestinians from Gaza were killed and more than 60
injured by the Israeli Defence Forces after they approached the border fence with
Israel.
Tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have recently soared amid a rash of
attacks and confrontations between Palestinians and troops. Since last weekend, gun
and knife attacks by Palestinians have left four Israelis dead and many wounded, while
at least three Palestinians have been killed during clashes with security forces in the
West Bank and East Jerusalem. Friday's attacks follow a sharp rise in violence
between Israelis and Palestinians since late last month, when clashes erupted at the
Temple Mount site in East Jerusalem.
We know that ultimately the final conflict, Armageddon, is going to be over Jerusalem. It
will be over who controls the city. The centre of the city is Temple Mount. It is the centre
of the problem but will one day be the centre of God’s kingdom on earth.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her
with great fury. Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of
Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts
the holy mountain.

18 dead in 'apocalyptic' French Riviera floods

EVENT

A British woman is among 19 people who died in “apocalyptic” floods that devastated
the French Riviera over the weekend, as the search continues for are least three more
still missing. Mediterranean resort towns normally associated with sun and glitz,
including Cannes, Nice and Antibes, were battered by a torrential downpour on
Saturday night that trapped residents in cars, parking garages and retirement homes.
Torrents of water rushed through previously pristine streets, dumping cars and mud in
its wake and destroying businesses across the Côte d’Azur.
The victim, who AFP confirmed was a woman, citing sources "close to the case", was
reportedly swept away by a wall of water while on holiday with her husband at the
Pylone Campsite near Antibes. Her body was found later by emergency services as
dozens of Britons were evacuated by helicopter.

COMMENT We keep seeing incredible weather events around the world. This week saw floods in

the French Riviera that killed 20 people. Earlier in the year more than 1,200 people
died in Pakistan of heatstroke and dehydration as temperatures soared far above 40C
and power cuts crippled Karachi. India is recovering from the second deadliest heat
wave in the country's history, which had killed 2,500 people a few months ago.
A huge storm front that moved through Texas and Oklahoma at the end of May
triggered record-breaking rainfall and spawned several tornadoes. Almost 500 people
are estimated to have been killed by tornadoes so far this year, mostly in China.
All of these are signs we are nearing the end. The physical earth is groaning under the
sin of its inhabitants. We know only Jesus Christ returning will put it right.

Friday, with Israeli troops killing five people in clashes on the border and Islamist group
Hamas calling for another intifada. In one of the bloodiest days since last year's Gaza
war, a fresh wave of stabbings also hit Israel and the West Bank, including a revenge
attack by a Jewish suspect that wounded two Palestinians and two Arab Israelis.
Ismail Hanniyeh, the Gaza-based leader of Hamas, declared a new uprising after Friday
prayers and urged his followers to ramp up attacks. “We are calling for the
strengthening and increasing of the intifada… It is the only path that will lead to
liberation,” Mr Haniyeh said, speaking at a mosque in Gaza City. In the wake of Mr
Haniyeh’s address, at least six Palestinians from Gaza were killed and more than 60
injured by the Israeli Defence Forces after they approached the border fence with
Israel.
Tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have recently soared amid a rash of
attacks and confrontations between Palestinians and troops. Since last weekend, gun
and knife attacks by Palestinians have left four Israelis dead and many wounded, while
at least three Palestinians have been killed during clashes with security forces in the
West Bank and East Jerusalem. Friday's attacks follow a sharp rise in violence
between Israelis and Palestinians since late last month, when clashes erupted at the
Temple Mount site in East Jerusalem.
We know that ultimately the final conflict, Armageddon, is going to be over Jerusalem. It
will be over who controls the city. The centre of the city is Temple Mount. It is the centre
of the problem but will one day be the centre of God’s kingdom on earth.

18 dead in 'apocalyptic' French Riviera floods

EVENT

A British woman is among 19 people who died in “apocalyptic” floods that devastated
the French Riviera over the weekend, as the search continues for are least three more
still missing. Mediterranean resort towns normally associated with sun and glitz,
including Cannes, Nice and Antibes, were battered by a torrential downpour on
Saturday night that trapped residents in cars, parking garages and retirement homes.
Torrents of water rushed through previously pristine streets, dumping cars and mud in
its wake and destroying businesses across the Côte d’Azur.
The victim, who AFP confirmed was a woman, citing sources "close to the case", was
reportedly swept away by a wall of water while on holiday with her husband at the
Pylone Campsite near Antibes. Her body was found later by emergency services as
dozens of Britons were evacuated by helicopter.

COMMENT We keep seeing incredible weather events around the world. This week saw floods in

the French Riviera that killed 20 people. Earlier in the year more than 1,200 people
died in Pakistan of heatstroke and dehydration as temperatures soared far above 40C
and power cuts crippled Karachi. India is recovering from the second deadliest heat
wave in the country's history, which had killed 2,500 people a few months ago.
A huge storm front that moved through Texas and Oklahoma at the end of May
triggered record-breaking rainfall and spawned several tornadoes. Almost 500 people
are estimated to have been killed by tornadoes so far this year, mostly in China.
All of these are signs we are nearing the end. The physical earth is groaning under the
sin of its inhabitants. We know only Jesus Christ returning will put it right.

What is a Weekly World Watch?
The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to
events spoken of in the Bible. .
I hope to build up a picture of God’s hand working in the affairs of this world.
God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem
to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to
this earth. Jesus will then establish God’s kingdom on earth.
This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch.

The following six themes will appear repeatedly in WWW:

Russian missiles 'hit IS in Syria from Caspian Sea'

EVENT

Russian warships in the Caspian Sea have launched dozens of
missiles into Syria, sharply escalating a military campaign to shield the regime from
rebel forces. Travelling more than 900 miles, the missiles struck 11 targets inside the
war-torn country, officials said. In a video apparently showing their launch, bright white
lights seared through the sky, trailed by thick plumes of smoke.
Moscow's missiles added additional force to airstrikes backing a Syrian regime ground
offensive in four locations across the provinces of Hama and Idlib on Wednesday.
The deployment of cruise missiles and air strikes marked a significant escalation of the
campaign to shield the regime from rebel forces which began in earnest last week. It
was the first time operations had been openly coordinated with forces loyal to Bashar
al-Assad, one of the Kremlin’s only remaining allies in the Middle East.

COMMENT These missiles flew over Iraq and Iran to reach Syria. Why would Russia fire missiles

from such a long distance away when they have military jets that could do this based in
Syria? The answer may well be that sea-launched cruise missiles have long been a
favourite US weapon of choice in interventions overseas. So there may be an element
of Russia demonstrating that it has the full military capability of any other "superpower".
But all this adds to the increasing tensions between America and Russia. It is yet
another complication to a fraught situation. Putin actually released footage of the
missiles roaring into the sky on their deathly mission. President Putin praised the
Russian military, saying the armed forces were “well prepared”. It is interesting he said
this. The Bible says that Gog (Russian leader) would prepare for himself and for those
nations assembled with him eg Iran. The preparation is done. War has begun.

Obama to overhaul US approach to support rebels

EVENT

The United States will largely abandon its failed efforts to train moderate Syrian rebels
fighting Islamic State, and instead provide arms and equipment directly to rebel
leaders and their units on the battlefield, the Obama administration said on Friday.
The U.S. announcement marked the effective end to a short-lived $580 million
program to train and equip units of fighters at sites outside of Syria, after its disastrous
launch this year fanned criticism of President Barack Obama's war strategy.
The Pentagon said it would shift its focus away from training to providing weapons
and other equipment to rebel groups whose leaders have passed a U.S. vetting
process to ensure they are not linked to militant Islamist groups. The strategy switch
comes as the Obama administration grapples with a dramatic change in the
landscape in Syria's four-year civil war, brought about by Russia's military intervention
in support of President Bashar al-Assad. Moscow's intervention has cast doubt on
Obama's strategy there and raised questions about U.S. influence in the region.

COMMENT Experts say that less than 10% of Russian strikes have hit ISIS. 90% at least have hit

Here's how World War Three could start tomorrow

It would only take a small spark to start a conflict between Nato and China or Russia unleashing previously unseen forms of warfare. For the last two decades, leaders in
London and Washington have become focused on operations in places like Sierra
Leona, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Syria, where the worry was, and is, weak
and imploding states. But bigger trends are at play globally. We are seeing the return
of great power politics – and with it, the risk of powerful states going to war.
Conflict with the likes of Russia or China was something that seemed buried with the
end of the Cold War. Yet today’s simmering tensions mean there is a risk of such an
outcome becoming all too real. As in the past, it is perfectly possible that a third world
war could start with a small event, or even by accident. One of the many Russian
bomber planes now probing NATO’s borders could collide with an RAF Typhoon,
prompting an aerial skirmish the likes of which the world has not seen for decades.

COMMENT When Jesus return shortly there will no excuse for us not being ready. Even those

without the knowledge of what is to happen can see how WW3 could occur now at any
time – even tomorrow! With Bible in hand we have seen (and can see) what is to come
because God in his mercy has told us in advance so we can prepare. Only a few weeks
ago there was no sign of Russia intending to join this war… and now here we are with
Russia sending cruise missiles 900 miles into Syria and bombing everyday against US
backed rebels. NATO has said today it is prepared to send troops to Turkey to defend
its ally after violations of Turkish airspace by Russian jets. The first stage of WW3 is
centred on Syria but it quickly develops into an invasion of Israel.

Netanyahu bans MPs from al-Aqsa compound

Benjamin Netanyahu has banned MPs and cabinet ministers from going near al-Aqsa
mosque as six Israelis were injured in stabbing attacks across the country on
Thursday. The Israeli prime minister was criticised by members of his own coalition for
the ban on access to the volatile Jerusalem compound which initially applied to all
parliamentarians except for those who were Arab-Israelis. But following outraged
reactions from hard-liners within his own governing coalition, Mr Netanyahu
announced that all Knesset members would be barred from the site without exception.
The Jerusalem hilltop compound lies at the heart of recent tensions, known as alAqsa Mosque to Muslims and Temple Mount to Jews. It has increasingly become the
site of brutal clashes between Israelis and Palestinians. Many Palestinians believe
Israel is trying to expand the Jewish presence at the site, a claim Israel adamantly
denies. Under a longstanding arrangement administered by Islamic authorities, Jews
are allowed to visit the site during certain hours but not pray there.

COMMENT With the world’s focus on Syria perhaps the increasing crisis in Israel is going

unreported and unnoticed. For weeks now the tensions have escalated between Israel
and the Palestinians that live within Israel. It’s the Temple Mount site that is the centre
of the problems. To try to alleviate this issue Prime Minister Netanyahu banned Jewish
Cabinet ministers from visiting the site. But then there was uproar from Jews who
asked why were they being banned. So Netanyahu then banned all cabinet ministers
including Arab ones. They in turn have said they will ignore the ban and go on Sunday.
With Bible in hand we know that at the same time Syria goes up in flames Israel will
also be drawn into a war with its immediate enemies. The stage is being set for this.

It would only take a small spark to start a conflict between Nato and China or Russia unleashing previously unseen forms of warfare. For the last two decades, leaders in
London and Washington have become focused on operations in places like Sierra
Leona, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Syria, where the worry was, and is, weak
and imploding states. But bigger trends are at play globally. We are seeing the return
of great power politics – and with it, the risk of powerful states going to war.
Conflict with the likes of Russia or China was something that seemed buried with the
end of the Cold War. Yet today’s simmering tensions mean there is a risk of such an
outcome becoming all too real. As in the past, it is perfectly possible that a third world
war could start with a small event, or even by accident. One of the many Russian
bomber planes now probing NATO’s borders could collide with an RAF Typhoon,
prompting an aerial skirmish the likes of which the world has not seen for decades.

COMMENT When Jesus return shortly there will no excuse for us not being ready. Even those

without the knowledge of what is to happen can see how WW3 could occur now at any
time – even tomorrow! With Bible in hand we have seen (and can see) what is to come
because God in his mercy has told us in advance so we can prepare. Only a few weeks
ago there was no sign of Russia intending to join this war… and now here we are with
Russia sending cruise missiles 900 miles into Syria and bombing everyday against US
backed rebels. NATO has said today it is prepared to send troops to Turkey to defend
its ally after violations of Turkish airspace by Russian jets. The first stage of WW3 is
centred on Syria but it quickly develops into an invasion of Israel.

Netanyahu bans MPs from al-Aqsa compound

Benjamin Netanyahu has banned MPs and cabinet ministers from going near al-Aqsa
mosque as six Israelis were injured in stabbing attacks across the country on
Thursday. The Israeli prime minister was criticised by members of his own coalition for
the ban on access to the volatile Jerusalem compound which initially applied to all
parliamentarians except for those who were Arab-Israelis. But following outraged
reactions from hard-liners within his own governing coalition, Mr Netanyahu
announced that all Knesset members would be barred from the site without exception.
The Jerusalem hilltop compound lies at the heart of recent tensions, known as alAqsa Mosque to Muslims and Temple Mount to Jews. It has increasingly become the
site of brutal clashes between Israelis and Palestinians. Many Palestinians believe
Israel is trying to expand the Jewish presence at the site, a claim Israel adamantly
denies. Under a longstanding arrangement administered by Islamic authorities, Jews
are allowed to visit the site during certain hours but not pray there.

COMMENT With the world’s focus on Syria perhaps the increasing crisis in Israel is going

unreported and unnoticed. For weeks now the tensions have escalated between Israel
and the Palestinians that live within Israel. It’s the Temple Mount site that is the centre
of the problems. To try to alleviate this issue Prime Minister Netanyahu banned Jewish
Cabinet ministers from visiting the site. But then there was uproar from Jews who
asked why were they being banned. So Netanyahu then banned all cabinet ministers
including Arab ones. They in turn have said they will ignore the ban and go on Sunday.
With Bible in hand we know that at the same time Syria goes up in flames Israel will
also be drawn into a war with its immediate enemies. The stage is being set for this.

Hamas calling for another intifada. In one of the bloodiest days since last year's Gaza
war, a fresh wave of stabbings also hit Israel and the West Bank, including a revenge
attack by a Jewish suspect that wounded two Palestinians and two Arab Israelis.
Ismail Hanniyeh, the Gaza-based leader of Hamas, declared a new uprising after Friday
prayers and urged his followers to ramp up attacks. “We are calling for the
strengthening and increasing of the intifada… It is the only path that will lead to
liberation,” Mr Haniyeh said, speaking at a mosque in Gaza City. In the wake of Mr
Haniyeh’s address, at least six Palestinians from Gaza were killed and more than 60

Israel.
Tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have recently soared amid a rash of

West Bank and East Jerusalem. Friday's attacks follow a sharp rise in violence
between Israelis and Palestinians since late last month, when clashes erupted at the
Temple Mount site in East Jerusalem.
We know that ultimately the final conflict, Armageddon, is going to be over Jerusalem. It
will be over who controls the city. The centre of the city is Temple Mount. It is the centre
of the problem but will one day be the centre of God’s kingdom on earth.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her
with great fury. Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of

18 dead in 'apocalyptic' French Riviera floods

A British woman is among 19 people who died in “apocalyptic” floods that devastated
the French Riviera over the weekend, as the search continues for are least three more
still missing. Mediterranean resort towns normally associated with sun and glitz,
including Cannes, Nice and Antibes, were battered by a torrential downpour on
Saturday night that trapped residents in cars, parking garages and retirement homes.
Torrents of water rushed through previously pristine streets, dumping cars and mud in
its wake and destroying businesses across the Côte d’Azur.
The victim, who AFP confirmed was a woman, citing sources "close to the case", was
reportedly swept away by a wall of water while on holiday with her husband at the
Pylone Campsite near Antibes. Her body was found later by emergency services as
dozens of Britons were evacuated by helicopter.

COMMENT We keep seeing incredible weather events around the world. This week saw floods in

the French Riviera that killed 20 people. Earlier in the year more than 1,200 people
died in Pakistan of heatstroke and dehydration as temperatures soared far above 40C
and power cuts crippled Karachi. India is recovering from the second deadliest heat
wave in the country's history, which had killed 2,500 people a few months ago.
A huge storm front that moved through Texas and Oklahoma at the end of May
triggered record-breaking rainfall and spawned several tornadoes. Almost 500 people
are estimated to have been killed by tornadoes so far this year, mostly in China.
All of these are signs we are nearing the end. The physical earth is groaning under the
sin of its inhabitants. We know only Jesus Christ returning will put it right.

What is a Weekly World Watch?
The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to
events spoken of in the Bible. .
I hope to build up a picture of God’s hand working in the affairs of this world.
God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem
to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to
this earth. Jesus will then establish God’s kingdom on earth.
This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch.

The following six themes will appear repeatedly in WWW:

• Europe: Its developing union, both political and religious.
• Russia: Its return to anti-Western ways as Bible prophecy’s “king of the

Russian missiles 'hit IS in Syria from Caspian Sea'

EVENT

Russian warships in the Caspian Sea have launched dozens of
missiles into Syria, sharply escalating a military campaign to shield the regime from
rebel forces. Travelling more than 900 miles, the missiles struck 11 targets inside the
war-torn country, officials said. In a video apparently showing their launch, bright white
lights seared through the sky, trailed by thick plumes of smoke.
Moscow's missiles added additional force to airstrikes backing a Syrian regime ground
offensive in four locations across the provinces of Hama and Idlib on Wednesday.
The deployment of cruise missiles and air strikes marked a significant escalation of the
campaign to shield the regime from rebel forces which began in earnest last week. It
was the first time operations had been openly coordinated with forces loyal to Bashar
al-Assad, one of the Kremlin’s only remaining allies in the Middle East.

COMMENT These missiles flew over Iraq and Iran to reach Syria. Why would Russia fire missiles

from such a long distance away when they have military jets that could do this based in
Syria? The answer may well be that sea-launched cruise missiles have long been a
favourite US weapon of choice in interventions overseas. So there may be an element
of Russia demonstrating that it has the full military capability of any other "superpower".
But all this adds to the increasing tensions between America and Russia. It is yet
another complication to a fraught situation. Putin actually released footage of the
missiles roaring into the sky on their deathly mission. President Putin praised the
Russian military, saying the armed forces were “well prepared”. It is interesting he said
this. The Bible says that Gog (Russian leader) would prepare for himself and for those
nations assembled with him eg Iran. The preparation is done. War has begun.

Obama to overhaul US approach to support rebels

The United States will largely abandon its failed efforts to train moderate Syrian rebels
fighting Islamic State, and instead provide arms and equipment directly to rebel
leaders and their units on the battlefield, the Obama administration said on Friday.
The U.S. announcement marked the effective end to a short-lived $580 million
program to train and equip units of fighters at sites outside of Syria, after its disastrous
launch this year fanned criticism of President Barack Obama's war strategy.
The Pentagon said it would shift its focus away from training to providing weapons
and other equipment to rebel groups whose leaders have passed a U.S. vetting
process to ensure they are not linked to militant Islamist groups. The strategy switch
comes as the Obama administration grapples with a dramatic change in the
landscape in Syria's four-year civil war, brought about by Russia's military intervention
in support of President Bashar al-Assad. Moscow's intervention has cast doubt on
Obama's strategy there and raised questions about U.S. influence in the region.

past week. It is in no way meant to be exhaustive – just a look at those events
I saw as significant from a Biblical point of view.

Russian missiles 'hit IS in Syria from Caspian Sea'

EVENT

Russian warships in the Caspian Sea have launched dozens of
missiles into Syria, sharply escalating a military campaign to shield the regime from
rebel forces. Travelling more than 900 miles, the missiles struck 11 targets inside the
war-torn country, officials said. In a video apparently showing their launch, bright white
lights seared through the sky, trailed by thick plumes of smoke.
Moscow's missiles added additional force to airstrikes backing a Syrian regime ground
offensive in four locations across the provinces of Hama and Idlib on Wednesday.
The deployment of cruise missiles and air strikes marked a significant escalation of the
campaign to shield the regime from rebel forces which began in earnest last week. It
was the first time operations had been openly coordinated with forces loyal to Bashar
al-Assad, one of the Kremlin’s only remaining allies in the Middle East.

COMMENT These missiles flew over Iraq and Iran to reach Syria. Why would Russia fire missiles

from such a long distance away when they have military jets that could do this based in
Syria? The answer may well be that sea-launched cruise missiles have long been a
favourite US weapon of choice in interventions overseas. So there may be an element
of Russia demonstrating that it has the full military capability of any other "superpower".
But all this adds to the increasing tensions between America and Russia. It is yet
another complication to a fraught situation. Putin actually released footage of the
missiles roaring into the sky on their deathly mission. President Putin praised the
Russian military, saying the armed forces were “well prepared”. It is interesting he said
this. The Bible says that Gog (Russian leader) would prepare for himself and for those
nations assembled with him eg Iran. The preparation is done. War has begun.

Obama to overhaul US approach to support rebels

EVENT

The United States will largely abandon its failed efforts to train moderate Syrian rebels
fighting Islamic State, and instead provide arms and equipment directly to rebel
leaders and their units on the battlefield, the Obama administration said on Friday.
The U.S. announcement marked the effective end to a short-lived $580 million
program to train and equip units of fighters at sites outside of Syria, after its disastrous
launch this year fanned criticism of President Barack Obama's war strategy.
The Pentagon said it would shift its focus away from training to providing weapons
and other equipment to rebel groups whose leaders have passed a U.S. vetting
process to ensure they are not linked to militant Islamist groups. The strategy switch
comes as the Obama administration grapples with a dramatic change in the
landscape in Syria's four-year civil war, brought about by Russia's military intervention
in support of President Bashar al-Assad. Moscow's intervention has cast doubt on
Obama's strategy there and raised questions about U.S. influence in the region.

COMMENT Experts say that less than 10% of Russian strikes have hit ISIS. 90% at least have hit

Here's how World War Three could start tomorrow

It would only take a small spark to start a conflict between Nato and China or Russia unleashing previously unseen forms of warfare. For the last two decades, leaders in
London and Washington have become focused on operations in places like Sierra
Leona, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Syria, where the worry was, and is, weak
and imploding states. But bigger trends are at play globally. We are seeing the return
of great power politics – and with it, the risk of powerful states going to war.
Conflict with the likes of Russia or China was something that seemed buried with the
end of the Cold War. Yet today’s simmering tensions mean there is a risk of such an
outcome becoming all too real. As in the past, it is perfectly possible that a third world
war could start with a small event, or even by accident. One of the many Russian
bomber planes now probing NATO’s borders could collide with an RAF Typhoon,
prompting an aerial skirmish the likes of which the world has not seen for decades.

COMMENT When Jesus return shortly there will no excuse for us not being ready. Even those

without the knowledge of what is to happen can see how WW3 could occur now at any
time – even tomorrow! With Bible in hand we have seen (and can see) what is to come
because God in his mercy has told us in advance so we can prepare. Only a few weeks
ago there was no sign of Russia intending to join this war… and now here we are with
Russia sending cruise missiles 900 miles into Syria and bombing everyday against US
backed rebels. NATO has said today it is prepared to send troops to Turkey to defend
its ally after violations of Turkish airspace by Russian jets. The first stage of WW3 is
centred on Syria but it quickly develops into an invasion of Israel.

Netanyahu bans MPs from al-Aqsa compound

EVENT

Benjamin Netanyahu has banned MPs and cabinet ministers from going near al-Aqsa
mosque as six Israelis were injured in stabbing attacks across the country on
Thursday. The Israeli prime minister was criticised by members of his own coalition for
the ban on access to the volatile Jerusalem compound which initially applied to all
parliamentarians except for those who were Arab-Israelis. But following outraged
reactions from hard-liners within his own governing coalition, Mr Netanyahu
announced that all Knesset members would be barred from the site without exception.
The Jerusalem hilltop compound lies at the heart of recent tensions, known as alAqsa Mosque to Muslims and Temple Mount to Jews. It has increasingly become the
site of brutal clashes between Israelis and Palestinians. Many Palestinians believe
Israel is trying to expand the Jewish presence at the site, a claim Israel adamantly
denies. Under a longstanding arrangement administered by Islamic authorities, Jews
are allowed to visit the site during certain hours but not pray there.

COMMENT With the world’s focus on Syria perhaps the increasing crisis in Israel is going

unreported and unnoticed. For weeks now the tensions have escalated between Israel
and the Palestinians that live within Israel. It’s the Temple Mount site that is the centre
of the problems. To try to alleviate this issue Prime Minister Netanyahu banned Jewish
Cabinet ministers from visiting the site. But then there was uproar from Jews who
asked why were they being banned. So Netanyahu then banned all cabinet ministers
including Arab ones. They in turn have said they will ignore the ban and go on Sunday.
With Bible in hand we know that at the same time Syria goes up in flames Israel will
also be drawn into a war with its immediate enemies. The stage is being set for this.

A week of violence between Israelis and Palestinians spread to the Gaza Strip on
Friday, with Israeli troops killing five people in clashes on the border and Islamist group
Hamas calling for another intifada. In one of the bloodiest days since last year's Gaza
war, a fresh wave of stabbings also hit Israel and the West Bank, including a revenge
attack by a Jewish suspect that wounded two Palestinians and two Arab Israelis.
Ismail Hanniyeh, the Gaza-based leader of Hamas, declared a new uprising after Friday
prayers and urged his followers to ramp up attacks. “We are calling for the
strengthening and increasing of the intifada… It is the only path that will lead to
liberation,” Mr Haniyeh said, speaking at a mosque in Gaza City. In the wake of Mr
Haniyeh’s address, at least six Palestinians from Gaza were killed and more than 60
injured by the Israeli Defence Forces after they approached the border fence with
Israel.
Tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have recently soared amid a rash of
attacks and confrontations between Palestinians and troops. Since last weekend, gun
and knife attacks by Palestinians have left four Israelis dead and many wounded, while
at least three Palestinians have been killed during clashes with security forces in the
West Bank and East Jerusalem. Friday's attacks follow a sharp rise in violence
between Israelis and Palestinians since late last month, when clashes erupted at the
Temple Mount site in East Jerusalem.
We know that ultimately the final conflict, Armageddon, is going to be over Jerusalem. It
will be over who controls the city. The centre of the city is Temple Mount. It is the centre
of the problem but will one day be the centre of God’s kingdom on earth.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her
with great fury. Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of
Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts

18 dead in 'apocalyptic' French Riviera floods

EVENT

A British woman is among 19 people who died in “apocalyptic” floods that devastated
the French Riviera over the weekend, as the search continues for are least three more
still missing. Mediterranean resort towns normally associated with sun and glitz,
including Cannes, Nice and Antibes, were battered by a torrential downpour on
Saturday night that trapped residents in cars, parking garages and retirement homes.
Torrents of water rushed through previously pristine streets, dumping cars and mud in
its wake and destroying businesses across the Côte d’Azur.
The victim, who AFP confirmed was a woman, citing sources "close to the case", was
reportedly swept away by a wall of water while on holiday with her husband at the
Pylone Campsite near Antibes. Her body was found later by emergency services as
dozens of Britons were evacuated by helicopter.

COMMENT We keep seeing incredible weather events around the world. This week saw floods in

the French Riviera that killed 20 people. Earlier in the year more than 1,200 people
died in Pakistan of heatstroke and dehydration as temperatures soared far above 40C
and power cuts crippled Karachi. India is recovering from the second deadliest heat
wave in the country's history, which had killed 2,500 people a few months ago.
A huge storm front that moved through Texas and Oklahoma at the end of May
triggered record-breaking rainfall and spawned several tornadoes. Almost 500 people
are estimated to have been killed by tornadoes so far this year, mostly in China.
All of these are signs we are nearing the end. The physical earth is groaning under the
sin of its inhabitants. We know only Jesus Christ returning will put it right.

What is a Weekly World Watch?
The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to
events spoken of in the Bible. .
I hope to build up a picture of God’s hand working in the affairs of this world.
God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem
to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to
this earth. Jesus will then establish God’s kingdom on earth.
This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch.

We know that ultimately the final conflict, Armageddon, is going to be over Jerusalem. It
will be over who controls the city. The centre of the city is Temple Mount. It is the centre
of the problem but will one day be the centre of God’s kingdom on earth.

18 dead in 'apocalyptic' French Riviera floods

EVENT

A British woman is among 19 people who died in “apocalyptic” floods that devastated
the French Riviera over the weekend, as the search continues for are least three more
still missing. Mediterranean resort towns normally associated with sun and glitz,
including Cannes, Nice and Antibes, were battered by a torrential downpour on
Saturday night that trapped residents in cars, parking garages and retirement homes.
Torrents of water rushed through previously pristine streets, dumping cars and mud in
its wake and destroying businesses across the Côte d’Azur.
The victim, who AFP confirmed was a woman, citing sources "close to the case", was
reportedly swept away by a wall of water while on holiday with her husband at the
Pylone Campsite near Antibes. Her body was found later by emergency services as
dozens of Britons were evacuated by helicopter.

COMMENT We keep seeing incredible weather events around the world. This week saw floods in

the French Riviera that killed 20 people. Earlier in the year more than 1,200 people
died in Pakistan of heatstroke and dehydration as temperatures soared far above 40C
and power cuts crippled Karachi. India is recovering from the second deadliest heat
wave in the country's history, which had killed 2,500 people a few months ago.
A huge storm front that moved through Texas and Oklahoma at the end of May
triggered record-breaking rainfall and spawned several tornadoes. Almost 500 people
are estimated to have been killed by tornadoes so far this year, mostly in China.
All of these are signs we are nearing the end. The physical earth is groaning under the
sin of its inhabitants. We know only Jesus Christ returning will put it right.

What is a Weekly World Watch?
The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to
events spoken of in the Bible. .
I hope to build up a picture of God’s hand working in the affairs of this world.
God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem
to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to
this earth. Jesus will then establish God’s kingdom on earth.
This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch.

Russian missiles 'hit IS in Syria from Caspian Sea'

EVENT

Russian warships in the Caspian Sea have launched dozens of
missiles into Syria, sharply escalating a military campaign to shield the regime from
rebel forces. Travelling more than 900 miles, the missiles struck 11 targets inside the
war-torn country, officials said. In a video apparently showing their launch, bright white
lights seared through the sky, trailed by thick plumes of smoke.
Moscow's missiles added additional force to airstrikes backing a Syrian regime ground
offensive in four locations across the provinces of Hama and Idlib on Wednesday.
The deployment of cruise missiles and air strikes marked a significant escalation of the
campaign to shield the regime from rebel forces which began in earnest last week. It
was the first time operations had been openly coordinated with forces loyal to Bashar
al-Assad, one of the Kremlin’s only remaining allies in the Middle East.

COMMENT These missiles flew over Iraq and Iran to reach Syria. Why would Russia fire missiles

from such a long distance away when they have military jets that could do this based in
Syria? The answer may well be that sea-launched cruise missiles have long been a
favourite US weapon of choice in interventions overseas. So there may be an element
of Russia demonstrating that it has the full military capability of any other "superpower".
But all this adds to the increasing tensions between America and Russia. It is yet
another complication to a fraught situation. Putin actually released footage of the
missiles roaring into the sky on their deathly mission. President Putin praised the
Russian military, saying the armed forces were “well prepared”. It is interesting he said
this. The Bible says that Gog (Russian leader) would prepare for himself and for those
nations assembled with him eg Iran. The preparation is done. War has begun.

Obama to overhaul US approach to support rebels

EVENT

The United States will largely abandon its failed efforts to train moderate Syrian rebels
fighting Islamic State, and instead provide arms and equipment directly to rebel
leaders and their units on the battlefield, the Obama administration said on Friday.
The U.S. announcement marked the effective end to a short-lived $580 million
program to train and equip units of fighters at sites outside of Syria, after its disastrous
launch this year fanned criticism of President Barack Obama's war strategy.
The Pentagon said it would shift its focus away from training to providing weapons
and other equipment to rebel groups whose leaders have passed a U.S. vetting
process to ensure they are not linked to militant Islamist groups. The strategy switch
comes as the Obama administration grapples with a dramatic change in the
landscape in Syria's four-year civil war, brought about by Russia's military intervention
in support of President Bashar al-Assad. Moscow's intervention has cast doubt on
Obama's strategy there and raised questions about U.S. influence in the region.

COMMENT Experts say that less than 10% of Russian strikes have hit ISIS. 90% at least have hit

Here's how World War Three could start tomorrow

It would only take a small spark to start a conflict between Nato and China or Russia unleashing previously unseen forms of warfare. For the last two decades, leaders in
London and Washington have become focused on operations in places like Sierra
Leona, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Syria, where the worry was, and is, weak
and imploding states. But bigger trends are at play globally. We are seeing the return
of great power politics – and with it, the risk of powerful states going to war.
Conflict with the likes of Russia or China was something that seemed buried with the
end of the Cold War. Yet today’s simmering tensions mean there is a risk of such an
outcome becoming all too real. As in the past, it is perfectly possible that a third world
war could start with a small event, or even by accident. One of the many Russian
bomber planes now probing NATO’s borders could collide with an RAF Typhoon,
prompting an aerial skirmish the likes of which the world has not seen for decades.

COMMENT When Jesus return shortly there will no excuse for us not being ready. Even those

without the knowledge of what is to happen can see how WW3 could occur now at any
time – even tomorrow! With Bible in hand we have seen (and can see) what is to come
because God in his mercy has told us in advance so we can prepare. Only a few weeks
ago there was no sign of Russia intending to join this war… and now here we are with
Russia sending cruise missiles 900 miles into Syria and bombing everyday against US
backed rebels. NATO has said today it is prepared to send troops to Turkey to defend
its ally after violations of Turkish airspace by Russian jets. The first stage of WW3 is
centred on Syria but it quickly develops into an invasion of Israel.

Netanyahu bans MPs from al-Aqsa compound

Benjamin Netanyahu has banned MPs and cabinet ministers from going near al-Aqsa
mosque as six Israelis were injured in stabbing attacks across the country on
Thursday. The Israeli prime minister was criticised by members of his own coalition for
the ban on access to the volatile Jerusalem compound which initially applied to all
parliamentarians except for those who were Arab-Israelis. But following outraged
reactions from hard-liners within his own governing coalition, Mr Netanyahu
announced that all Knesset members would be barred from the site without exception.
The Jerusalem hilltop compound lies at the heart of recent tensions, known as alAqsa Mosque to Muslims and Temple Mount to Jews. It has increasingly become the
site of brutal clashes between Israelis and Palestinians. Many Palestinians believe
Israel is trying to expand the Jewish presence at the site, a claim Israel adamantly
denies. Under a longstanding arrangement administered by Islamic authorities, Jews
are allowed to visit the site during certain hours but not pray there.

COMMENT With the world’s focus on Syria perhaps the increasing crisis in Israel is going

unreported and unnoticed. For weeks now the tensions have escalated between Israel
and the Palestinians that live within Israel. It’s the Temple Mount site that is the centre
of the problems. To try to alleviate this issue Prime Minister Netanyahu banned Jewish
Cabinet ministers from visiting the site. But then there was uproar from Jews who
asked why were they being banned. So Netanyahu then banned all cabinet ministers
including Arab ones. They in turn have said they will ignore the ban and go on Sunday.
With Bible in hand we know that at the same time Syria goes up in flames Israel will
also be drawn into a war with its immediate enemies. The stage is being set for this.

Here's how World War Three could start tomorrow

It would only take a small spark to start a conflict between Nato and China or Russia unleashing previously unseen forms of warfare. For the last two decades, leaders in
London and Washington have become focused on operations in places like Sierra
Leona, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Syria, where the worry was, and is, weak
and imploding states. But bigger trends are at play globally. We are seeing the return
of great power politics – and with it, the risk of powerful states going to war.
Conflict with the likes of Russia or China was something that seemed buried with the
end of the Cold War. Yet today’s simmering tensions mean there is a risk of such an
outcome becoming all too real. As in the past, it is perfectly possible that a third world
war could start with a small event, or even by accident. One of the many Russian
bomber planes now probing NATO’s borders could collide with an RAF Typhoon,
prompting an aerial skirmish the likes of which the world has not seen for decades.

COMMENT When Jesus return shortly there will no excuse for us not being ready. Even those

without the knowledge of what is to happen can see how WW3 could occur now at any
time – even tomorrow! With Bible in hand we have seen (and can see) what is to come
because God in his mercy has told us in advance so we can prepare. Only a few weeks
ago there was no sign of Russia intending to join this war… and now here we are with
Russia sending cruise missiles 900 miles into Syria and bombing everyday against US
backed rebels. NATO has said today it is prepared to send troops to Turkey to defend
its ally after violations of Turkish airspace by Russian jets. The first stage of WW3 is
centred on Syria but it quickly develops into an invasion of Israel.

Netanyahu bans MPs from al-Aqsa compound

Benjamin Netanyahu has banned MPs and cabinet ministers from going near al-Aqsa
mosque as six Israelis were injured in stabbing attacks across the country on
Thursday. The Israeli prime minister was criticised by members of his own coalition for
the ban on access to the volatile Jerusalem compound which initially applied to all
parliamentarians except for those who were Arab-Israelis. But following outraged
reactions from hard-liners within his own governing coalition, Mr Netanyahu
announced that all Knesset members would be barred from the site without exception.
The Jerusalem hilltop compound lies at the heart of recent tensions, known as alAqsa Mosque to Muslims and Temple Mount to Jews. It has increasingly become the
site of brutal clashes between Israelis and Palestinians. Many Palestinians believe
Israel is trying to expand the Jewish presence at the site, a claim Israel adamantly
denies. Under a longstanding arrangement administered by Islamic authorities, Jews
are allowed to visit the site during certain hours but not pray there.

COMMENT With the world’s focus on Syria perhaps the increasing crisis in Israel is going

unreported and unnoticed. For weeks now the tensions have escalated between Israel
and the Palestinians that live within Israel. It’s the Temple Mount site that is the centre
of the problems. To try to alleviate this issue Prime Minister Netanyahu banned Jewish
Cabinet ministers from visiting the site. But then there was uproar from Jews who
asked why were they being banned. So Netanyahu then banned all cabinet ministers
including Arab ones. They in turn have said they will ignore the ban and go on Sunday.
With Bible in hand we know that at the same time Syria goes up in flames Israel will
also be drawn into a war with its immediate enemies. The stage is being set for this.

Friday, with Israeli troops killing five people in clashes on the border and Islamist group
Hamas calling for another intifada. In one of the bloodiest days since last year's Gaza
war, a fresh wave of stabbings also hit Israel and the West Bank, including a revenge
attack by a Jewish suspect that wounded two Palestinians and two Arab Israelis.
Ismail Hanniyeh, the Gaza-based leader of Hamas, declared a new uprising after Friday
prayers and urged his followers to ramp up attacks. “We are calling for the
strengthening and increasing of the intifada… It is the only path that will lead to
liberation,” Mr Haniyeh said, speaking at a mosque in Gaza City. In the wake of Mr
Haniyeh’s address, at least six Palestinians from Gaza were killed and more than 60
injured by the Israeli Defence Forces after they approached the border fence with
Israel.
Tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have recently soared amid a rash of
attacks and confrontations between Palestinians and troops. Since last weekend, gun
and knife attacks by Palestinians have left four Israelis dead and many wounded, while
at least three Palestinians have been killed during clashes with security forces in the
West Bank and East Jerusalem. Friday's attacks follow a sharp rise in violence
between Israelis and Palestinians since late last month, when clashes erupted at the
Temple Mount site in East Jerusalem.
We know that ultimately the final conflict, Armageddon, is going to be over Jerusalem. It
will be over who controls the city. The centre of the city is Temple Mount. It is the centre
of the problem but will one day be the centre of God’s kingdom on earth.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her
with great fury. Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of
Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts

18 dead in 'apocalyptic' French Riviera floods

EVENT

A British woman is among 19 people who died in “apocalyptic” floods that devastated
the French Riviera over the weekend, as the search continues for are least three more
still missing. Mediterranean resort towns normally associated with sun and glitz,
including Cannes, Nice and Antibes, were battered by a torrential downpour on
Saturday night that trapped residents in cars, parking garages and retirement homes.
Torrents of water rushed through previously pristine streets, dumping cars and mud in
its wake and destroying businesses across the Côte d’Azur.
The victim, who AFP confirmed was a woman, citing sources "close to the case", was
reportedly swept away by a wall of water while on holiday with her husband at the
Pylone Campsite near Antibes. Her body was found later by emergency services as
dozens of Britons were evacuated by helicopter.

COMMENT We keep seeing incredible weather events around the world. This week saw floods in

the French Riviera that killed 20 people. Earlier in the year more than 1,200 people
died in Pakistan of heatstroke and dehydration as temperatures soared far above 40C
and power cuts crippled Karachi. India is recovering from the second deadliest heat
wave in the country's history, which had killed 2,500 people a few months ago.
A huge storm front that moved through Texas and Oklahoma at the end of May
triggered record-breaking rainfall and spawned several tornadoes. Almost 500 people
are estimated to have been killed by tornadoes so far this year, mostly in China.
All of these are signs we are nearing the end. The physical earth is groaning under the
sin of its inhabitants. We know only Jesus Christ returning will put it right.

What is a Weekly World Watch?
The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to
events spoken of in the Bible. .
I hope to build up a picture of God’s hand working in the affairs of this world.
God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem
to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to
this earth. Jesus will then establish God’s kingdom on earth.
This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch.

The following six themes will appear repeatedly in WWW:

• Europe: Its developing union, both political and religious.
• Russia: Its return to anti-Western ways as Bible prophecy’s “king of the

Russian missiles 'hit IS in Syria from Caspian Sea'

EVENT

Russian warships in the Caspian Sea have launched dozens of
missiles into Syria, sharply escalating a military campaign to shield the regime from
rebel forces. Travelling more than 900 miles, the missiles struck 11 targets inside the
war-torn country, officials said. In a video apparently showing their launch, bright white
lights seared through the sky, trailed by thick plumes of smoke.
Moscow's missiles added additional force to airstrikes backing a Syrian regime ground
offensive in four locations across the provinces of Hama and Idlib on Wednesday.
The deployment of cruise missiles and air strikes marked a significant escalation of the
campaign to shield the regime from rebel forces which began in earnest last week. It
was the first time operations had been openly coordinated with forces loyal to Bashar
al-Assad, one of the Kremlin’s only remaining allies in the Middle East.

COMMENT These missiles flew over Iraq and Iran to reach Syria. Why would Russia fire missiles

from such a long distance away when they have military jets that could do this based in
Syria? The answer may well be that sea-launched cruise missiles have long been a
favourite US weapon of choice in interventions overseas. So there may be an element
of Russia demonstrating that it has the full military capability of any other "superpower".
But all this adds to the increasing tensions between America and Russia. It is yet
another complication to a fraught situation. Putin actually released footage of the
missiles roaring into the sky on their deathly mission. President Putin praised the
Russian military, saying the armed forces were “well prepared”. It is interesting he said
this. The Bible says that Gog (Russian leader) would prepare for himself and for those
nations assembled with him eg Iran. The preparation is done. War has begun.

Obama to overhaul US approach to support rebels

EVENT

The United States will largely abandon its failed efforts to train moderate Syrian rebels
fighting Islamic State, and instead provide arms and equipment directly to rebel
leaders and their units on the battlefield, the Obama administration said on Friday.
The U.S. announcement marked the effective end to a short-lived $580 million
program to train and equip units of fighters at sites outside of Syria, after its disastrous
launch this year fanned criticism of President Barack Obama's war strategy.
The Pentagon said it would shift its focus away from training to providing weapons
and other equipment to rebel groups whose leaders have passed a U.S. vetting
process to ensure they are not linked to militant Islamist groups. The strategy switch
comes as the Obama administration grapples with a dramatic change in the
landscape in Syria's four-year civil war, brought about by Russia's military intervention
in support of President Bashar al-Assad. Moscow's intervention has cast doubt on
Obama's strategy there and raised questions about U.S. influence in the region.

COMMENT Experts say that less than 10% of Russian strikes have hit ISIS. 90% at least have hit

Russian missiles 'hit IS in Syria from Caspian Sea'

EVENT

Russian warships in the Caspian Sea have launched dozens of
missiles into Syria, sharply escalating a military campaign to shield the regime from
rebel forces. Travelling more than 900 miles, the missiles struck 11 targets inside the
war-torn country, officials said. In a video apparently showing their launch, bright white
lights seared through the sky, trailed by thick plumes of smoke.
Moscow's missiles added additional force to airstrikes backing a Syrian regime ground
offensive in four locations across the provinces of Hama and Idlib on Wednesday.
The deployment of cruise missiles and air strikes marked a significant escalation of the
campaign to shield the regime from rebel forces which began in earnest last week. It
was the first time operations had been openly coordinated with forces loyal to Bashar
al-Assad, one of the Kremlin’s only remaining allies in the Middle East.

COMMENT These missiles flew over Iraq and Iran to reach Syria. Why would Russia fire missiles

from such a long distance away when they have military jets that could do this based in
Syria? The answer may well be that sea-launched cruise missiles have long been a
favourite US weapon of choice in interventions overseas. So there may be an element
of Russia demonstrating that it has the full military capability of any other "superpower".
But all this adds to the increasing tensions between America and Russia. It is yet
another complication to a fraught situation. Putin actually released footage of the
missiles roaring into the sky on their deathly mission. President Putin praised the
Russian military, saying the armed forces were “well prepared”. It is interesting he said
this. The Bible says that Gog (Russian leader) would prepare for himself and for those
nations assembled with him eg Iran. The preparation is done. War has begun.

Obama to overhaul US approach to support rebels

EVENT

The United States will largely abandon its failed efforts to train moderate Syrian rebels
fighting Islamic State, and instead provide arms and equipment directly to rebel
leaders and their units on the battlefield, the Obama administration said on Friday.
The U.S. announcement marked the effective end to a short-lived $580 million
program to train and equip units of fighters at sites outside of Syria, after its disastrous
launch this year fanned criticism of President Barack Obama's war strategy.
The Pentagon said it would shift its focus away from training to providing weapons
and other equipment to rebel groups whose leaders have passed a U.S. vetting
process to ensure they are not linked to militant Islamist groups. The strategy switch
comes as the Obama administration grapples with a dramatic change in the
landscape in Syria's four-year civil war, brought about by Russia's military intervention
in support of President Bashar al-Assad. Moscow's intervention has cast doubt on
Obama's strategy there and raised questions about U.S. influence in the region.

COMMENT Experts say that less than 10% of Russian strikes have hit ISIS. 90% at least have hit

Here's how World War Three could start tomorrow

It would only take a small spark to start a conflict between Nato and China or Russia unleashing previously unseen forms of warfare. For the last two decades, leaders in
London and Washington have become focused on operations in places like Sierra
Leona, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Syria, where the worry was, and is, weak
and imploding states. But bigger trends are at play globally. We are seeing the return
of great power politics – and with it, the risk of powerful states going to war.
Conflict with the likes of Russia or China was something that seemed buried with the
end of the Cold War. Yet today’s simmering tensions mean there is a risk of such an
outcome becoming all too real. As in the past, it is perfectly possible that a third world
war could start with a small event, or even by accident. One of the many Russian
bomber planes now probing NATO’s borders could collide with an RAF Typhoon,
prompting an aerial skirmish the likes of which the world has not seen for decades.

COMMENT When Jesus return shortly there will no excuse for us not being ready. Even those

without the knowledge of what is to happen can see how WW3 could occur now at any
time – even tomorrow! With Bible in hand we have seen (and can see) what is to come
because God in his mercy has told us in advance so we can prepare. Only a few weeks
ago there was no sign of Russia intending to join this war… and now here we are with
Russia sending cruise missiles 900 miles into Syria and bombing everyday against US
backed rebels. NATO has said today it is prepared to send troops to Turkey to defend
its ally after violations of Turkish airspace by Russian jets. The first stage of WW3 is
centred on Syria but it quickly develops into an invasion of Israel.

Netanyahu bans MPs from al-Aqsa compound

EVENT

Benjamin Netanyahu has banned MPs and cabinet ministers from going near al-Aqsa
mosque as six Israelis were injured in stabbing attacks across the country on
Thursday. The Israeli prime minister was criticised by members of his own coalition for
the ban on access to the volatile Jerusalem compound which initially applied to all
parliamentarians except for those who were Arab-Israelis. But following outraged
reactions from hard-liners within his own governing coalition, Mr Netanyahu
announced that all Knesset members would be barred from the site without exception.
The Jerusalem hilltop compound lies at the heart of recent tensions, known as alAqsa Mosque to Muslims and Temple Mount to Jews. It has increasingly become the
site of brutal clashes between Israelis and Palestinians. Many Palestinians believe
Israel is trying to expand the Jewish presence at the site, a claim Israel adamantly
denies. Under a longstanding arrangement administered by Islamic authorities, Jews
are allowed to visit the site during certain hours but not pray there.

COMMENT With the world’s focus on Syria perhaps the increasing crisis in Israel is going

unreported and unnoticed. For weeks now the tensions have escalated between Israel
and the Palestinians that live within Israel. It’s the Temple Mount site that is the centre
of the problems. To try to alleviate this issue Prime Minister Netanyahu banned Jewish
Cabinet ministers from visiting the site. But then there was uproar from Jews who
asked why were they being banned. So Netanyahu then banned all cabinet ministers
including Arab ones. They in turn have said they will ignore the ban and go on Sunday.
With Bible in hand we know that at the same time Syria goes up in flames Israel will
also be drawn into a war with its immediate enemies. The stage is being set for this.

Friday, with Israeli troops killing five people in clashes on the border and Islamist group
Hamas calling for another intifada. In one of the bloodiest days since last year's Gaza
war, a fresh wave of stabbings also hit Israel and the West Bank, including a revenge
attack by a Jewish suspect that wounded two Palestinians and two Arab Israelis.
Ismail Hanniyeh, the Gaza-based leader of Hamas, declared a new uprising after Friday
prayers and urged his followers to ramp up attacks. “We are calling for the
strengthening and increasing of the intifada… It is the only path that will lead to
liberation,” Mr Haniyeh said, speaking at a mosque in Gaza City. In the wake of Mr
Haniyeh’s address, at least six Palestinians from Gaza were killed and more than 60
injured by the Israeli Defence Forces after they approached the border fence with
Israel.
Tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have recently soared amid a rash of
attacks and confrontations between Palestinians and troops. Since last weekend, gun
and knife attacks by Palestinians have left four Israelis dead and many wounded, while
at least three Palestinians have been killed during clashes with security forces in the
West Bank and East Jerusalem. Friday's attacks follow a sharp rise in violence
between Israelis and Palestinians since late last month, when clashes erupted at the
Temple Mount site in East Jerusalem.
We know that ultimately the final conflict, Armageddon, is going to be over Jerusalem. It
will be over who controls the city. The centre of the city is Temple Mount. It is the centre
of the problem but will one day be the centre of God’s kingdom on earth.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her
with great fury. Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of
Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts

18 dead in 'apocalyptic' French Riviera floods

EVENT

A British woman is among 19 people who died in “apocalyptic” floods that devastated
the French Riviera over the weekend, as the search continues for are least three more
still missing. Mediterranean resort towns normally associated with sun and glitz,
including Cannes, Nice and Antibes, were battered by a torrential downpour on
Saturday night that trapped residents in cars, parking garages and retirement homes.
Torrents of water rushed through previously pristine streets, dumping cars and mud in
its wake and destroying businesses across the Côte d’Azur.
The victim, who AFP confirmed was a woman, citing sources "close to the case", was
reportedly swept away by a wall of water while on holiday with her husband at the
Pylone Campsite near Antibes. Her body was found later by emergency services as
dozens of Britons were evacuated by helicopter.

COMMENT We keep seeing incredible weather events around the world. This week saw floods in

the French Riviera that killed 20 people. Earlier in the year more than 1,200 people
died in Pakistan of heatstroke and dehydration as temperatures soared far above 40C
and power cuts crippled Karachi. India is recovering from the second deadliest heat
wave in the country's history, which had killed 2,500 people a few months ago.
A huge storm front that moved through Texas and Oklahoma at the end of May
triggered record-breaking rainfall and spawned several tornadoes. Almost 500 people
are estimated to have been killed by tornadoes so far this year, mostly in China.
All of these are signs we are nearing the end. The physical earth is groaning under the
sin of its inhabitants. We know only Jesus Christ returning will put it right.

What is a Weekly World Watch?
The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to
events spoken of in the Bible. .
I hope to build up a picture of God’s hand working in the affairs of this world.
God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem
to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to
this earth. Jesus will then establish God’s kingdom on earth.
This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch.

The following six themes will appear repeatedly in WWW:

18 dead in 'apocalyptic' French Riviera floods

A British woman is among 19 people who died in “apocalyptic” floods that devastated
the French Riviera over the weekend, as the search continues for are least three more
still missing. Mediterranean resort towns normally associated with sun and glitz,
including Cannes, Nice and Antibes, were battered by a torrential downpour on
Saturday night that trapped residents in cars, parking garages and retirement homes.
Torrents of water rushed through previously pristine streets, dumping cars and mud in
its wake and destroying businesses across the Côte d’Azur.
The victim, who AFP confirmed was a woman, citing sources "close to the case", was
reportedly swept away by a wall of water while on holiday with her husband at the
Pylone Campsite near Antibes. Her body was found later by emergency services as
dozens of Britons were evacuated by helicopter.

COMMENT We keep seeing incredible weather events around the world. This week saw floods in

the French Riviera that killed 20 people. Earlier in the year more than 1,200 people
died in Pakistan of heatstroke and dehydration as temperatures soared far above 40C
and power cuts crippled Karachi. India is recovering from the second deadliest heat
wave in the country's history, which had killed 2,500 people a few months ago.
A huge storm front that moved through Texas and Oklahoma at the end of May
triggered record-breaking rainfall and spawned several tornadoes. Almost 500 people
are estimated to have been killed by tornadoes so far this year, mostly in China.
All of these are signs we are nearing the end. The physical earth is groaning under the
sin of its inhabitants. We know only Jesus Christ returning will put it right.
