It is best to print on
separate belts than you dry
on, because it increases
the life of the belts and
keeps the integrity of the
print quality throughout the
life of the FIT system. The
extensions are slave units
to the host base, getting
both the drive and vacuum
from it.

Modularity ~ Customer Situation
The owner mid-sized print shop, Mike, makes a decision to get into
mailing because of increased pressure from some of his top clients.
Unfortunately, the owner does not have the budget this year for a full
blown inkjet system. 80% of his current requirements are to simply
addressing non-glossy postcards. He decides to make the
investment in a 2” print system on the FIT-36.

Modularity ~ Customer Situation
The system works great for Mike until next year when his top customer
now want to send glossy post cards. His current system does not
have enough space for a dryer. In the past, Mike would have had to
purchase a new transport or spend a significant amount of money
adding an extension. Fortunately for Mike, he purchased a FIT
transport that can host a dryer extension. It can be added on his
existing base in less than 30 minutes.

Modularity ~ Customer Situation
2 years into inkjet addressing, Mike’s company has now been
approached by several customers wanting Mike to address their
mail. His company is limited in what jobs they can offer a bid
because his entry level system only allows for 2” of print. Lucky for
Mike, he has a FIT transport. In less than 1 hour he can extend his
current 36” base to a 72” single belt base, re-attach the dryer
extension. Now it is ready to be upgraded from 2” of print up to 16”.

Why Modularity
Matters
The design of this base not only
gave the customer an entry level
system for a low cost investment
but it is designed to be field
upgradable as needed and fit
within their budget throughout the
growth of the company
