การถามถึงข้อมูล หรือเพียงเพื่อยา้ ความมัน่ ใจ ซึง่ เราเรียกคาถามสัน้ ๆ ทีท่ า้ ย
ประโยคนี้วา่ question tag
ตัวอย่างเช่น
 He
is happy, isn’t he ?
 Those boy can swim, can’t they?
 He is not tall , is he?
 Jane didn’t eat meat, did she ?
หลักการเขียน QUESTION TAG มีดงั นี้
1. ถ้าประโยคหลักเป็ นประโยคบอกเล่าในส่วนของ
question tag จะใช้ รูปปฏิเสธ เช่น
He is happy, isn’t he ?
Those boy can swim, can’t they ?
2. ถ้าประโยคหลักเป็ นประโยคปฏิเสธในส่วนของ question tag จะ
เป็ นรูปบอกเล่า เช่น
He is not tall, is he ?
Jane didn’t eat meat, did she?
3. ถ้าประโยคหลักมี verb to be, verb to have
(ในperfect tense) หรือ will, should, would ,
may , might ,can, could , must
ให้ใช้กริยาเหล่านี้มาทา question tag เช่น
She will go there, won’t she?
He can ride a horse, can’t he?
You have already done the dishes,
haven’t you?
4. ถ้าไม่มีกริยาใน ข้อ 3 คือเป็ นกริยาทัว่ ๆไป เช่น go, come, make , do ,
sit etc. ให้ใช้ verb to do มาทา question tag โดยต้องผันให้
tense ตรงกับประโยคหลัก เช่น
Nick often comes to class late, doesn’t he?
Jane went to Japan last year, didn’t she ?
He didn’t do the exercise this morning,
didn’t he ?
Suda drinks coffee 2 cups a day, doesn’t she?
5. ถ้า verb to have ใช้ในความหมายอืน่ ทีไ่ ม่ได้แปลว่า “มี” เช่น
to have breakfast (รับประทานอาหารเช้า), to have
a good time (สนุกสนาน) จะต้องใช้ verb to do มาทา
question tag เช่น
Maria has breakfast at seven o’clock,
doesn’t she?
You have a good time in Thailand,
don’t you?
6. ถ้าประโยคหลักมี used to ให้ใช้ did มาช่วยในส่วน
question tag เช่น
She used to be in Phuket, didn’t she?
7.ประโยคคาสัง่ หรือขอร้องให้ใช้ will you? ใน question
tag เช่น
Turn off the TV., will you?
8. ประโยคชักชวนหรือเสนอแนะทีข่ ้ นึ ต้นด้วย Let’s ให้ใช้
shall we? ใน question tag เช่น
Let’s go to the movie ,shall we?
9. ถ้าประโยคหลักมี there is ,there are, there
was, there were ให้ใช้ verb to be ในส่วน
question tag เช่น
There are two boys, aren’t there?
10. ถ้าประโยคหลักมี this is , that is ในส่วนของ
question tag จะเป็ น is it ? หรือ isn’t it? เช่น
This is your pen ? isn’t it?
11. ถ้าประโยคหลักมี these are, those are ใน ส่วนของ
question tag จะเป็ น are they? หรือ aren’t
they ? เช่น
These are tables, aren’t they?
12. ถ้าประโยคหลักมี negative adverb เช่น seldom , rarely,
never ใน ส่วนของ question tag ให้ใช้รูปประโยคบอกเล่า เช่น
She rarely talked on the phone, did she?
He never drinks alcohol, does he?
