2005 - KOPALMERIA belonging to the group Gavá, begins its activities in August, in Almería.
Though our experience goes back 1993 in Granada where we had the first facilities for processing
and packing, and due to changes in the sector and to the growth of the company we decided to
move to Almería.
2007 – The group decides to acquire farms (20 hectares of greenhouse) in the area of Poniente
in Almería to achieve its next goal, our own production, guaranteeing a major control of the
quality, and time production of our products.

2008 -The group increases its own production
capacity up to 40 Ha. So we can pick different
products at different timings, prolonging to the
maximum the cycle of production and assuring a
supply of quality product to our clients practically
the whole year. Another advantage is that we can
sow products to attend to a specific demand of
our clients.
All the greenhouses are certified with the
Biological Control Certificate.

2008 -Creation of the logistic division to
attend to the internal and external demand.
2008 – Construction of new facilities in La
Mojonera - Almería, an installation of 5600 m2
totally refreshed destined exclusively to the
processing of vegetables and another one of
4500 m2 for logistics.
August 2009 – Kopalmeria moves its activities to its
facilities in La Mojonera - Almería. This new facilities,
beside presenting the best technology of the sector, have
a zone of manipulation totally air conditioned to 14 º all
year, and 5 cold chambers with a temperature of
refrigeration down to 0 º whose capacity is 20 trucks.
Our goods does not lose quality and in addition we
support the chain of cold up to the point of sale.

We export to the whole Europe and on the
national market we attend to companies of
the whole Spain, supermarkets and
wholesalers located in the principal central
markets (Mercabarna, Mercamadrid,
Mercamalaga, Mercasevilla, etc.).

CERTIFICATES
ISO 9001-2000- The family of ISO 9000 rules are a number of requirements with a
great amount of advantages for the enterprises and their quality. The aim of these rules
is to provide a proper process performance to implement a quality management system.
At this moment, we are setting the ISO 9001 2008.
GLOBALGAP- This standard is primarily designed to reassure consumers about
how food is produced on the farm by minimising detrimental environmental impacts
of farming operations, reducing the use of chemical inputs and ensuring a
responsible approach to worker health and safety as well as animal welfare. It serves
as a practical manual for Good Agricultural Practice (G.A.P.). The basis is an equal
partnership of agricultural producers and retailers who wish to establish efficient
certification standards and procedures.
BRC-
The BRC Global Standards specify requirements to be met by an organisation to
enable the production, packaging, storage and distribution of safe food and consumer
products.
IFS -
The IFS Food was created by French and German distribution companies that is
a Standard for auditing retailer and wholesaler branded food product suppliers and
only concerns food processing companies or companies that pack loose food
products. The IFS Food is used when a product is “processed” or when there is a
hazard for product contamination during the primary packing.
HACCP–
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) is a systematic preventive approach to food safety that
addresses physical, chemical, and biological hazards as a means of prevention rather than finished product inspection.
HACCP is used in the food industry to identify potential food safety hazards, so that key actions, known as Critical Control
Points (CCPs) can be taken to reduce or eliminate the risk of the hazards being realized. The system is used at all stages of
food production and preparation processes including packaging, distribution, etc.
