DENMARK Feb. 2004 March 2005

SCECBU is invited to participate to the Nordic meeting. A mandate is given to SCECBU take contact with the staff of Central Banks of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

Second invitation in the Nordic Meeting. Debate on the different cultures of Europe and on the Common Corporate Culture and the Mission Statement sent by the ESCB.

Meeting with the Vice Governor of the Central Bank and Mrs Ülle Rothla. Visit of the Bank and positive discussion on the different cultures of unionisms. Ready to meet staff associations of the Nordic Central banks.

LATVIA Feb. 2004

Meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank. Difficulties to bring a strong message to the board. No contact since that meeting.

LITHUANIA Feb. 2004

Very positive attitude of the Board of the Cetnral Bank. Very open to create a structure in the respect of the culture of the country. Ready to meet staff associations of Central Banks.

SLOVENIA January 2005

Meeting with the Head of Personnel and the President of the ZSSS union, Rebeka Janzownic. Very positive meeting with the demand of affiliation of the ZSSS union during this Congress 2005

Economic and Monetary Affairs committee of the European Parliament should not only pay attention to the functioning of the European Central Bank as such, but also to the proper functioning of the ESCB.

Hearings experts from NCB’s, as well as trade union representatives should be invited in the framework of the dialogue between the EP and the ECB

Mandate of the Executive Commission of Lisbon

SCECBU insisted on the burning actuality within certain Central Banks due to the restructurings that are being settled up and on the reduction of « non-monetary » activities in these institutions Mrs Randzio Plaath is of the opinion that her Commission’s competencies are very weak vis à-vis our demands regarding this subject and recalled that nothing has changed in what concerns the functioning of the ECB vis à-vis the reforms committed by the Convention

•to send to the Governors the report by the TMF Working Group adopted by the majoriy of the members •to insist on the specific aspect of banknote production, distribution and treatment •to organise a meeting with the members of the European Parliament in order to discuss with them the future of the Central Banks and the ECB within the framework of the ESCB •to contact Randzio Plath in order to let her know our problems •to intervene on the ECB’s report at European Parliament level •to exchange central bank trade union information in case of conflict •to demand an interview with Papademos in order to discuss the integration of the adherent countries •to continue the discussions with the adherent countries and help them to participate in the social dialogue •To have an interview with the representatives of the social dialogue in order to improve its organisation •Furthermore, the Executive Commission demands : •that each member Organisation take contact with the members of the European Parliament of their respective country in order to diffuse Central Bank social aspects as well as their activities ; •that a special Bureau be implemented with the participation of the Big countries in order to reflect on the Statutes of the Standing Committee ; •that the Committee stands for the adherent countries keeping them a place ; •the Organisations compromise to open a discussion at European level and to bring some proposals on all subjects concerning NCBs.
