 Similar Acceptance Criteria for “All” Materials
 Single Spec Criteria for “All” Die Materials

Group similar compositions together
Range of compositions must not alter microstructures

• Review Groupings by Chemical Composition
• Review Hardening Temperatures within each Grade
• Review Capability Toughness within each Grade
• Consider Listing Only “Remelted” Grades
• Except ‘Premium H13 “Grade A”
• Consider Deleting “Shepherd Fracture” Grain Size
• Review Toughness Requirement After Heat Treating • Currently CVN required for “Superior” Grade H13
• New Spec: CVN - Optional or Mandatory ?
• Evaluate “Acceptance” Values
