Reporting Procedures Indoors
• Center yourself 2 steps away from
Officer/NCO.
• Position of Attention, sharply salute (Officer
only) and state, “Sir/Ma’am, PVT Jones
reports.”
• Remain at the Position of Attention.
• The soldier does not drop salute until
Officer lowers their salute.
• Soldier executes an about-face and
sharply exits.

Reporting Procedures Outdoors
• Center yourself two, 30” steps away from
Officer/NCO.
• Position of Attention, sharply salute (Officer only)
and state, “Sir/Ma’am, PVT Jones reports.”
• Remain at the Position of Attention.
• The soldier does not drop salute until Officer
lowers their salute.
• Soldier executes an about-face and sharply exits.
• NCOs are saluted when the Platoon
Sergeant receives a report from Squad
Leaders in formation and when turning over a
formation.
