對照Compare/Contrast
I know how different commercial and homemade granola are and how
much better homemade granola is.
No time is required for
commercial granola; I can
simply go to the store and
buy it.
Homemade requires considerably
more time, because I have to
purchase all the ingredients and
prepare them.
Second, the cost of storebought granola ranges from
$1.59 to $ 2.09 per pound.
Homemade granola costs around
$1.10 per pound, depending on how
much fruit I use.
Commercial granola has a
blended, homogenized
flavor.
Homemade granola has the crunch
of toasted oats, the sweetness of
plump raisins, the soft flavorful
apricots, and the crisp nuts.

記敘 Narrative Paragraph
Jim Thorpe
Introduction
Jim Thorpe is a
controversial sports figure
in U. S. history. He won
Olympic gold medals in
1912, but he was not
allowed to keep them.
Climax
In 1982, the U. S.
Olympic Committee
reversed this ruling.
Rising Action
In the 1912 Olympics, Thorpe won
both the pentathlon (five events)
and decathlon (ten events).
However, a month later, the U. S.
Olympic Committee took away his
medals because Thorpe had played
baseball for money. An athlete who
takes money for sports is called a
professional, and at that time,
professional athletes were not
allowed to take part in any Olympic
Game.
Denouement
Seventy years after his
achievements, Thorp’s name
was finally returned to the list
of 1912 Olympic winners.
因果關係 (Cause-effect Paragraph)
There are four major reasons I like New York City.
First of all, I think
it is a beautiful
city.
It is filled with
sleek glass
skyscrapers;
charming, old
stone buildings;
and attractive
parks and
squares.
Second, I enjoy
the cultural life
that New York
offers.
Exciting
concerts,
Broadway
plays, and new
films are
always
available.
In addition, I
appreciate the light
entertainment the
city offers.
Nowhere else in the
United States can
one find so many
delightful
restaurants,
nightclubs, cabarets,
and discotheques.
Finally, I like the
diversity of
people in New
York City.
The city has
the largest
tourist
population in
the world.
